Chapter 4 - ep:4-THE WALLS WE BUILT

Scene 1: The Morning After – Stuck in the Past

Ha-joon woke up to his alarm ringing in his ears. His head still felt heavy with the memories from the previous day, particularly his interaction with Hana. "Why did she keep looking at me like that?" His thoughts swirled around as he rubbed his eyes, trying to shake off the restless night. He could feel the weight of her presence in his mind, even though his heart was still preoccupied with someone else—someone from his past.

"I'm not gonna let her get to me. She's just... annoying. She's not the one."

His childhood crush—the one he'd never been able to forget—was still vivid in his mind. Hana wasn't her. He wasn't going to let Hana mess with his emotions.

As he got ready for school, Ha-joon found himself unconsciously checking his phone for messages or photos of his past crush. "If I see her today, maybe I'll get a sign. I just need to know if I'm holding onto something real."

Scene 2: At School – A Bump with Fate

Ha-joon entered the school grounds, his heart still heavy from his thoughts of the girl he couldn't forget. His eyes searched the crowd of students, hoping to catch a glimpse of her. "Maybe she'll be here today. Or at least I can focus on something familiar."

But then, as he rounded the corner, he bumped into Hana. She stood there, looking annoyed as always, and for a split second, their eyes locked. The moment felt like a thousand awkward seconds.

"Watch where you're going, Ha-joon," Hana snapped, already irritated.

Ha-joon stood up straight, his face hardening. "Why don't you move out of the way next time, Hana?" His voice was colder than usual, and he couldn't help it. "She doesn't deserve my attention, not when I've got other things on my mind."

Hana rolled her eyes, crossing her arms. "Great. I get stuck with the guy who thinks he owns the hallways." She took a step back, but there was something about her posture—her face—that gave away a flicker of frustration.

She didn't say another word as she turned to walk away, but Ha-joon's eyes followed her movements. "Why is she even here? What does she want from me?"

Scene 3: Project Time – Irritation Builds

Later that day, Ha-joon found himself walking to the library for their project session. His footsteps were quick, but his mind was miles away, still obsessing over his childhood crush. The thought of Hana wasn't even on his radar.

When he arrived, Hana was already seated at the table, surrounded by project materials, her eyes focused on her work.

"Late as usual, Ha-joon?" Hana commented without looking up, her tone sharp but with an undercurrent of indifference. It was almost like she didn't care.

Ha-joon barely spared her a glance. "I've got better things to do than hang around here, but I'm sure you'll figure it out alone, right?"

Hana looked up at him, unimpressed. "You really are something, aren't you? This project is important. You could at least pretend to care."

"Why should I?" Ha-joon shot back, an edge to his voice. He leaned back in his chair, folding his arms over his chest. "It's not like I'm interested in getting an A. I've got other things on my mind."

She narrowed her eyes at him, sensing something deeper behind his words. "Whatever," she muttered, picking up her notebook again. "I'm not here to babysit you."

The silence stretched between them for a while, both of them absorbed in their own thoughts. Ha-joon kept his focus on the desk in front of him, his fingers tapping out an impatient rhythm. "I just need to get this over with. I can't keep thinking about her."

But no matter how hard he tried to shut it out, he couldn't ignore the nagging feeling. His childhood crush. "She's the one I care about. Hana is just... distracting me."

Scene 4: The Unexpected Moment – Hana's Empathy

After a while, Ha-joon's frustration grew. He couldn't focus on the project, his thoughts constantly drifting back to the girl from his past. Meanwhile, Hana had been quietly working beside him, her face occasionally flickering with something Ha-joon couldn't quite read.

Finally, Hana spoke up. "You're distracted again," she said, her voice softer than usual. It was clear she wasn't trying to provoke him this time, but instead, there was a quiet concern in her tone. "You're not usually this... off."

Ha-joon looked up, scowling. "Why do you even care?"

Hana shrugged, her eyes still on her notes. "I don't know. I guess I'm just wondering why you act like you've got the world on your shoulders. Everyone else here is just trying to get through the day, but you're... different."

He gritted his teeth. "And what's wrong with that?"

"Nothing." Hana's voice was calm, but there was a slight tremor to it, like she was trying to reach him in some way. "I just think it's stupid to keep holding on to something that doesn't exist anymore. You've got to let it go."

Ha-joon felt a pang in his chest. "She doesn't understand... She'll never understand." His thoughts were racing. "No one gets it. I'm not going to forget her. Not now. Not ever."

But for some reason, Hana's words made him pause. He looked at her then, noticing the way her eyes weren't judging him, but instead, they seemed... open. Honest. Like she was simply seeing him for who he was. "She's not a threat. She's just someone trying to talk to me."

He clenched his jaw and stood up abruptly. "I'm done. I'm not here to talk about my feelings with you." His voice was hard, and he made it a point to walk away without looking back.

Scene 5: The Parting Words – Hana's Quiet Understanding

As Ha-joon stormed out of the library, he could feel the weight of Hana's eyes on his back. He didn't want to admit it, but there was something in the way she spoke to him—something different. "She doesn't hate me. She's just... trying to make me realize something."

Meanwhile, Hana sat there, staring at the door he had just slammed behind him. She sighed softly to herself, but there was no bitterness in her heart. "He's hurting, but he won't let anyone in." She shook her head and tried to focus back on the project, even though her mind was still stuck on Ha-joon.
