Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

On the first day at Advanced Nurturing High School, a young man named Yonezu Haruto found himself sitting quietly on the bus. The city outside blurred past the window, but inside the bus, something else was catching everyone's attention.

A few rows ahead, voices were rising. An office lady was in a heated exchange with a student lounging in the priority seat. She was politely, but firmly, insisting that he give up the seat for an elderly woman who was standing nearby, looking tired and a little unsteady. The student, however, didn't seem to care at all. Instead, he argued back with surprising confidence and a hint of narcissism, brushing off the office lady's concerns as if he was completely entitled to the seat.

The atmosphere on the bus grew tense. Other passengers glanced away, unsure whether to intervene or just mind their own business. The old lady seemed embarrassed by the fuss, clearly wishing the whole thing would just blow over.

Not one for drama, Yonezu decided he'd had enough. He stood up, walked over, and spoke up, his voice calm but clear.

"Hey, can we keep it down? It's getting a little too loud," he said, then turned to the elderly woman with a gentle smile. "Ma'am, you can have my seat."

Relief washed over her face as she accepted. "Oh, thank you so much, young man!" she said, settling down gratefully.

With the issue resolved, the office lady backed off, her frustration fading. The stubborn student just pulled out a pocket mirror and started fussing with his hair, apparently unfazed. Yonezu made his way to the other side of the bus, finding a spot to stand near the exit.

A few minutes later, a cheerful voice piped up beside him.

"Hey, thanks for stepping in back there! I wanted to help, but you beat me to it."

Yonezu glanced over to see a girl with a bright smile.

"It was nothing, really," he replied. "I just didn't want things to get any louder."

She grinned. "I'm Kushida Kikyo, from Class D."

"Yonezu Haruto, Class B," he replied, returning her smile.

An awkward silence hung between them for a moment.

"Um, if I'm bothering you, I can leave you alone…" Kushida offered, a little shyly.

Yonezu shook his head. "No, you're fine. I'm just not much of a morning person. My brain isn't exactly working yet."

Kushida laughed, the tension breaking. "I get it! I'm just too excited to feel tired. I can't wait to meet everyone and make new friends."

Yonezu groaned. "That sounds exhausting."

She rolled her eyes with a smile. "No way! It's going to be great."

Soon, the bus rolled to a stop. They stepped off, exchanged goodbyes, and headed toward their new school lives.

As Yonezu made his way to the building, he couldn't help but notice the sheer number of security cameras lining the halls and corners-way more than seemed normal. He wondered about it for a second, then shrugged and kept walking.

He finally reached his classroom, glancing up at the sign: "B-Class." Inside, the room was already buzzing with students. Yonezu slipped into a seat at the back by the window, just like the protagonist in every anime ever. He spotted another security camera in the corner-pretty standard for a classroom, he figured.

With fifteen minutes to spare before class started and nothing pressing to do, Yonezu leaned back, closed his eyes, and decided a quick nap was the perfect way to start his high school. After all, he'd need his energy for whatever surprises this new school had in store.
