Chapter 1 - PROLOGUE

THE NOVEL NAME IS HONER

In a world ruled by power, legacy, and wealth, the Farley family stood as the third richest empire, trailing only behind two greater forces: the Stevler Corporation and the Holland Dynasty.

Among the Farleys, two daughters were born—twins, yet as different as sun and moon. Daphne Farley, the graceful, golden child, and Astrid Farley, the restless spirit forever left in her sister's shadow. Though they shared a birthday, they shared little else.

Astrid, the younger twin, possessed a fierce passion for life, for cooking, for crafting something of her own. But the family had other plans—ballerinas, not chefs, they said. So Astrid danced, and she danced well, but the stage could never quiet the yearning in her soul.

Daphne, poised and perfect, became the family's pride—the second-top ballerina in the world, soon to be the first. She was the light Astrid was forced to orbit, never allowed to outshine.

Among their glittering world stood two men:

♤ Ginger Holland, heir and president of the second richest corporation, a man who bore the weight of legacy in every step; and

♤ Robin Stevler, the golden boy of the Stevler family, the richest bloodline the world had ever known.

From the time they were children, Astrid loved Ginger. She loved him with a desperation that only those who have never truly been loved can understand. And Ginger was once promised to her. Their engagement had been arranged, and Astrid clung to that promise like a lifeline.

But love, cruel and unpredictable, chose another.

Ginger fell for Daphne.

And worse, Daphne fell back.

On what was meant to be Astrid's happiest day—the day of her wedding—she watched her fiancé and her sister run away together. Not in secrecy, but with the silent support of the most powerful families she once thought allies. Her world collapsed, brick by glittering brick.

Betrayal turned Astrid's love into hatred, and she struck out against the sister who had stolen everything.

But vengeance has its price.

In retaliation, Ginger and Robin—two men who had once held parts of her heart—snatched Astrid from the world she knew. They punished her ruthlessly, breaking her spirit and discarding her like an unwanted relic.

Alone, abandoned by her family, bankrupt, blacklisted from every opportunity, Astrid vanished from the world stage.

The world moved on without her.

Daphne took her crown as the top ballerina.

Ginger married Daphne in a ceremony dripping with splendor.

Robin, bound by duty, wed a bride chosen by his parents—and, over time, found a quieter, steadier love than he had ever known.

And Astrid?

Astrid, once a daughter of fortune, became a ghost, swallowed by the darkness she had been cast into.

But even ghosts have their day.

And sometimes, what is broken can rise stronger than ever before.
