Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 :Death X Rebirth

As he learned the name, Kevin's mind also began to surface some memories, such as recognizing written words.

"I can't read… but I can directly understand spoken language."

For a moment, he didn't know whether these memories, or rather the original memories, were normal or not.

He continued to search through the wallet in his hand, relying on his recognition of letters to try to find information.

Identification documents, bank cards, and some strange cards he couldn't understand.

But from these cards and IDs, he still gleaned some information.

For example, "he" came from a country called the Kingdom of Gugan Yu.

Great, never heard of it.

But it must be a major country.

Wait, why do I know that?

When he learned the name "Kingdom of Gugan Yu," some memories once again surfaced in his mind.

This body was like a person with amnesia, needing stimulation to trigger memories, and the current "him" controlling this body could recall things when stimulated.

Is this normal?

Probably normal.

What else could he do?

Kevin forced a bitter smile. He needed to learn more about himself and this world.

He couldn't help but look at the pile of clothes he had changed out of earlier in the corner, thinking that rummaging through them might help him recall more.

No sooner thought than acted.

He immediately took action.

Sure enough, he found many ragged cuts and holes on the clothes, all stained with blood.

But the more he looked, the more wrong it seemed.

Did these marks really come from falling down a mountain?

He saw several very smooth cuts — so smooth that it was like they were made with scissors or a sharp blade.

Once this thought appeared, the clothes looked even more suspicious.

Wait, how exactly did "I" die?

"You noticed something strange?"

"!"

A voice suddenly sounded from behind, startling Kevin. He turned around in shock to see that same man from before.

He didn't know when the man had appeared behind him — not a sound or movement had been made.

Seeing the clearly frightened Kevin, the man scratched his spiky hair.

"Sorry for scaring you. But after thinking it over, I have too many questions to ask you.

I don't have much time, so I'll just get straight to the point."

What?

Kevin, having just barely calmed down, looked completely bewildered again.

He had just stabilized himself and wanted to gather more information — but now the man's words threw him back into confusion and panic.

"My name is Ging, Ging Freecss."

Ging said this as he introduced himself.

Kevin instinctively nodded.

"I killed you. I personally killed you."

"Huh?"

Kevin was confused.

What the heck? Where did this bombshell come from?

Faced with Kevin's confusion, Ging obviously had no intention of stopping. He continued:

"We were enemies, so I killed you. But when I was about to deal with your corpse, your wounds healed.

I had already confirmed your death, yet you came back to life. This kind of phenomenon is rare and differs a little from what I previously knew.

So I brought you back, wanting to see if you would wake up."

No, bro, the amount of information you just dropped is a bit too much, isn't it?

Ging's sudden explanation left Kevin's mind completely blank, like an overwhelming flood of information poured into him.

Everything he had been thinking and planning was washed away by Ging's words.

At the same time, fragments of memories began flashing in Kevin's mind, like he had fought with this very man before.

Although the fragments were blurry, they confirmed that Ging's words were probably true.

As he recalled this, Kevin couldn't help but touch his body, feeling the places where his injuries had once been — it seemed like faint pain still lingered there.

Wait, something's wrong.

"You just said you've seen other cases of resurrection? Not just once?"

Kevin caught onto the key point. Was this kind of thing so common?

Based on his blurry memories from the fight, this world seemed… a little abnormal.

"You admitted it, looks like my guess was correct — you have a certain understanding of your current situation.

Though judging from your behavior, the understanding is far from complete, hmm…"

Saying this, Ging seemed to ponder for a moment, then continued:

"It's like seeing a dragon in an artwork, and although never believing dragons exist in the real world, when seeing a similar creature in reality, naturally calling it a dragon."

After talking to himself, Ging looked at Kevin.

"You're afraid of your current body. That reaction doesn't look like simple amnesia; it's more like… another soul, or should I say, another consciousness, entered this body."

All hit right on the mark.

Are you some kind of detective?

"It's not mind-reading. Just basic observation."

Was I that obvious?

"Not obvious. I just have some expertise in this field.

Also, my intuition is sharp, and my sense of smell is pretty good too."

Seriously, what kind of self-introduction is this?

Thus, with Kevin keeping a blank face and Ging answering freely, they continued to communicate.

Ging suddenly sat down cross-legged, facing Kevin.

"Looks like you've digested what I said. You're someone who can think and judge, so you should understand the situation now — this isn't a threat.

But you must have realized my strength too. So let's talk openly, shall we?

Consider it a trade. You really need help right now, don't you? Your confusion and unease are written all over your face."

Kevin exhaled and nodded.

He once again confirmed in his heart that the Ging in front of him was definitely a tough character.

Those who know when to adapt are wise.
