Chapter 1 - Meinton Forest

"You two boys have the same..." Aria Valores woke up by the sound of a deep voice. It was the community that ruled over the forest she lives in. (Now, I am not going to explain. If you don't understand things, check the synopsis. Okay, reader?) She quickly brushed her teeth and changed her clothes. Then, she went outside to find a busy crowd standing in front of 2 wooden desks. What in the Lakemine Forest is happening? She thought. "Er... Excuse me... Yes, sorry. Very sorry. Opps. Excuse me-" She said when she was using all her strength to get in front of the (now angry) crowd.

 "E-Eli?"

It was her best friend. He was chosen. Chosen to go to an eerie forest. It was Meinton Forest. It was abandoned for some reason, but nobody knew what happened, when it happened, or how it happened. The community knew, but nobody dared to ask them at all.

Elias Stormhaven looked at Aria. His eyes darkened. He looked worried.

"C'mon, kid. We have to go now. We hope to see you again." A community member said, sounding very excited. Nobody came out of there alive. Aria wanted to go, but girls get to go, only at the age of eighteen, and she knew no girls born on the same birth date so far."

"Wait!" Aria shouted. The man looked behind. They were masked so Aria couldn't know how he felt by his face. "Sorry, sir... To... Er... Make-"

"WELL? SPEAK UP, GIRL! WE HAVE NO TIME. HE HAS TO GO AND SURVIVE NOW!"

"Just hold on a minute. He only has a bow and arrows, no food. So, I wanted to give him this." She said, pulling out a cheese sandwich wrapped in plastic from he pocket, but at the same time, she secretly pulled out a jug of mud and spread it over the ground in front of them. "Oh my god! I am truly sorry, but that mud gives people good luck; thus, with all due respect, you guys should step on it so you have safe travels, especially Elias here. Anyways, here is the sandwich, Eli. Eat it wisely." She winked. "Yeah... Thanks, Ari."

The man was laughing. HAHAHAHA! "Mud that makes you lucky. Never heard of it, dottie!" She smiled nervously. Elias put his feet on the mud anyways.

"I am telling the truth, sir! I am! But if you don't believe me... Then, go... OH MY BEARS! This sir might not be safe, OH!" She pretended to be sobbing and ran to her house. She grabbed the things she needed in her large backpack that amazingly fit everything. She went to the place where she talked with the man and followed the mud footsteps. Then it ended. She was very worried.

Psttt! Pstttt! Ari! Come up here.

"Is this heaven calling me? Am I supposed to die? But you angels don't want me to die harmfully. Oh, no thanks. Thank you, but I have lost sight of my friend. Is he up there... Or..." She got worried even more. "Is he in hell?"

"DUMMY! IT'S ME! COME UP HERE, QUICK! BEFORE THE BEAR CHASES YOU AROUND!"

"Eli! Gosh, I didn't know you were up there. Now, help me get up. Quick! Before the bear chases me." She mocked as Elias blushed. "STOP IT! Urgh, you're a lot heavier than I thought. Even when you are slim and short." Elias replied as a comeback. "Just get it over with. Ow, URGH! FINALLY!" Elias put a finger on Aria's lips. Shh. The bear is coming. I can hear the footsteps. Yes, the bear IS coming. "Get your filthy little hands off me. And be quiet, you dumbwit!" "In fairness to me, I'm much smarter than you, now, shut up." "You shut up, Eli."

But they both turned quiet when they saw the BIG bear. It growled. Elias tried to move and made a quite loud sound. "Oops." He whispered as Aria stared at him, giving him a warning look. The bear looked at them, well, at the leaves, because they were also hiding behind it. The bear tried to reach up the tree now. "Run?" Elias asked. "Er..." Aria stumbled. The bear was almost able to climb. They knew they were in grave danger.
