Ba Mountain, at dusk.
The setting sun's afterglow bathes the undulating mountain ridges; layers of forests are dyed in multitude colors, with glow reflecting off the treetops. Tired birds fly back to their nests, while the approaching night disperses the day's heat.
As the last trace of sunlight plunges into the horizon at a visible pace, the mountains darken synchronously, the sky turns pitch black. All of a sudden, this mountain ridge stirs, as if stretching lazily, and then begins to move sluggishly.
From west to east, with its head on one end of the mountain and its tail on the other, a gigantic serpent's head leisurely rises. Its body stretches endlessly, with emerald green eyes scanning the surroundings, emitting a warmth and tranquility uncharacteristic of cold-blooded creatures.
It looks around the mountains and fixes its gaze on a thatched cottage, which appears eerie and sinister, enveloped in thick darkness.
