My mother walks over to me "Alright honey, how about we head over there after lunch?"
Yes, finally..... I can get started. "Yes mom, I can't wait."
"I can see that." she laughs a bit.
After lunch we head over to the address given online to find…. an old style Japanese estate.
"Alright this is the place, but we are slightly early. Let's go and ring the doorbell."
"Okay, this place looks kind of old fashioned mom."
"Yeah it does, doesn't it."
We walk up to the door and mom rings the doorbell. "Dinggg Donng"
We hear a faint "Coming" from somewhere inside, and moments later the door opens revealing a young woman.
"Hello, how can I help you today?"
"Ah yes, we called earlier about my son learning martial arts here."
"Ah right, dad mentioned a young prospective pupil showing up soon. Is that you little guy?"
"That's right!"
"Alright, well… my father is out in dojo. Here follow me to the back."
She starts walking off to the back and we follow her for awhile before "Ah! that's right I haven't introduced myself, have I?"
"Ah I haven't as well, my name is Inko Midoriya and this is my son Izuku."
"My name is Chisa Aizawa, It's nice to meet ya." the two shake hands and then continue walking.
"HA!" We hear various different sounds coming from the old dojo in the back. "SO!" Chisa goes and opens the door for us and we walk inside to see a man doing a set of punches, kicks, and various other moves while working up a sweat.
"Ahhh Chisa… I see you brought our guests."
"Yes dad, although I must say. Isn't he a little too young to be practicing our martial arts?"
"Oh don't worry Chisa, we won't be doing anything physically intensive until later. Besides, he needs to prove himself first."
I cock my head at that "What do you mean by that sir?"
"Before we get to that why don't we introduce ourselves. My name is Kaito Aizawa, I'm head of the Aizawa school of martial arts."
"My name is Inko Midoriya and we spoke on the phone earlier."
"Ah yes, it's a pleasure and this must be…."
"My name is Izuku Midoriya sir."
"Ah yes, now your mother informed me that you brought up the idea to learn martial arts, is that true?"
I nod "Yes sir, I was told I wouldn't get Quirk for the rest of my life, but even so I want to be a hero who saves everyone with a smile on my face."
"Ah…. you must be an All Might fanboy."
"I think he is a great man and role model sir!"
"Alright well… we'll see about that." He turns to my mother "Mrs. Midoriya."
"Please, just call me Inko."
"Alright Inko, would you allow me some time alone with your son."
"Sure." Mom kneels down "Alright Izuku, I'll be right back. Listen to Mr. Aizawa."
"Yes mom."
"Inko would you like some tea to drink."
"Yes that would be lovely."
"Alright. Chisa, would you be a dear and bring Inko into the house for some tea."
"Sure dad, follow me Inko. We'll let the two of them sweat it out."
She stands back up and walks over to Chisa. "Alright, please take care of my son sir."
"Don't worry, he's in good hands." I see the two of them walk out and close the door behind them. "Now, sit in front of me kid."
"Yes sir!" I go to sit in Sieza.
"Alright, now you understand that learning martial arts isn't something that can be done halfheartedly?"
"Yes sir!" I look at him with determination.
"Very well…" He gives me an appraising look. "Let's start with some warm-ups and stretches, stand up and follow after me."
"Yes sir." I quickly stand up and look right up at him.
"Let's start off with some jumping jacks to get the blood flowing."
"Yes sir" I start doing jumping jacks until 2 minutes later he tells me to stop.
"Alright that's good enough, now to move onto some stretches sit down."
"Yes sir" I sit down on the ground and he goes next to me.
"Alright I'll be helping you with stretching, now it's important to note that you shouldn't push yourself too much while stretching. If you did you could injure yourself, so keep that in mind."
"Yes."
"The goal of stretching is to push the limits of your body's flexibility to do so stretch just far enough to start feeling resistance."
"Yes Sir" He leads me through a variety of stretches that end up stretching every nook and cranny of my body. After 15 minutes we are finally done and I'm soaked with sweat.
"Alright now, I want you to do as many push-ups as you can. I'm not sure if your mother told you, but you are too young to start learning martial arts here."
"Then why am I here sir?"
"I believe that there are exceptions to every rule, but that's only for those with true determination. That's what I'm trying to test here, show me you have what it takes. There's no time-limit, just do as many as you can."
"Yes sir!" I start doing push-ups, not too fast or too slow.
After 5 push-ups, I realize that my body just isn't prepared to do physical activities as it once was.
After 10 push-ups, I feel myself breathing heavily.
After 15 push-ups, It feels like i'm inhaling fire.
After 20 push-ups, my pace has slowed to a crawl.
"Alright that's enough kid, I've seen all I need to."
"No…" I inhale "I won't give up, even if…. I have to work harder…. than anyone else. I won't give up cause…. if I do…. I don't have the right to be an aspiring Hero!"
If I could see his face I would notice no small amount of shock, from my declaration.
After 10 more push-ups, I find my vision going dark and I pass out.
"This kid….. He's something else." Izuku gets picked up and Kaito walks out of the dojo with him in his arms.
Kaito walks to the back door and enters the house. "Chisa, Inko…. I need some help here."
The two of them enter the hallway to see a unconscious Izuku being held in the arms of Kaito walking towards them.
"Izuku!" Inko runs over to check him over.
"Don't worry Inko, he just fainted. Let's head to the living room."
"Dad, I'm gonna grab a towel and water to wipe off his sweat."
"Okay Chisa, come Inko." He walks into the living room and set Izuku down in time for Chisa to be back in the room.
"Here let me Chisa, he's my son after all." she reaches out her hands.
"No problem here you go." Chisa hands over the water and towel.
Inko takes the towel and wipes the sweat off her son, and after finishing sets a towel soaked with water on his forehead. "What happened sir."
"I was testing his determination and he overdid it, he surprises me Inko. I said he was too young and I still think that, but I will teach him."
"Thank you very much sir, but if I may be bold, please don't let him push himself this hard again."
"Oh don't worry, I can tell that his body was just unprepared, we'll fix that." He turns to his daughter. "Chisa can you write up a diet for the kid."
"Sure dad, I'll get right on that." Chisa starts running off somewhere.
"A diet? Why would my son need that." Inko asks with pure confusion on his face.
"Oh! Because he will need a proper diet to compensate for the exercises we will be doing here. I mean you, don't want your son to come home like this every day, do you?"
"No, no I don't, thanks Kaito."
A while later I find myself waking up on something comfortable…
huh weren't we in the dojo… why am I lying on the couch? I look over to the right to see someone walking into the living room.
"Ah you're awake kid, good." He looks me up and down. "I've seen your determination and its admirable, don't let anyone shake that, got it?"
"Yes sir." I look at him hopefully. "Does that mean…?"
"Yes, Izuku Midoriya… I want to officially induct you as my disciple."
"Yes sir." I look at him with excitement.
"Call me Kaito Sensei or simply Sensei."
"Yes! Sensei!"
"Anyway my disciple, I've promised your mother that I wouldn't let you pass out during or sessions. When we are training, I will keep a keen eye on your health to make sure you can keep up with what I have planned for you. My daughter has also created a Diet specifically for you as well and given it to your mother."
"A diet? I suppose I would need more nutrients to keep up with martial arts practice.." I saw contemplatively.
"Yeah… for now, go home, eat and rest. After the weekend I want you to start coming here for an hour or two on the weekdays. Understood?"
"Yes, Sensei!"
"Alright, Inko your son is ready to go, have a safe trip you two."
"Bye Kaito."
"Goodbye Sensei, have a good night."
"And a good night to you my disciple."
Me and mom head on back home to eat dinner and sleep for the night.
