Chapter 565 - Chapter 565: The Dragon and the Sea Nymph

"Let me think, which of the twelve Olympian gods would be the easiest to replace?"

"If possible, directly replacing Zeus would allow me to rule this multiverse. But that's quite unrealistic."

With his insight into the knowledge and history contained in time, Garon had gained a certain understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the twelve Olympian gods.

The strongest, without a doubt, was Zeus, the God-King.

Then came his two brothers, Poseidon, the Sea God, and Hades, the God of the Underworld.

"Hades isn't in the heavens; he controls death and resides in the dark underworld. He's not one of the twelve Olympian gods and has always wanted to shed his identity as the god of the underworld and covets his brother's throne."

"Poseidon is the same, also eyeing the position of God-King. Zeus has a tough time holding his position."

Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades.

These three brothers led the new generation of gods, defeating the Titans and overthrowing their father's rule. Initially, they were close and didn't want to harm their relationship, so they determined the ruler of the gods through the simplest and most brutal method: drawing lots. Zeus became the God-King by drawing lots.

Poseidon took charge of the vast ocean, and Hades controlled the underworld.

Over the long passage of time, due to their inner desires for power and dissatisfaction with the status quo, their brotherly bond nearly dissipated. But Zeus, having served as the God-King for a long time, was powerful and had a stable position, suppressing his two brothers.

"After these three brothers come Apollo, the Sun God, Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom and War, and Ares, the God of War."

"As for the other gods, they are considered principal gods, but based on their performance in this multiverse's history, they don't seem very powerful."

"The gods of the Olympus multiverse, on the surface, are equivalent to several of the more powerful god systems in the Great Ring multiverse. However, even though the gods of the previous two generations have withdrawn from the stage of history, they cannot be ignored."

"But even adding them all up, they still can't compare to the Pantheon."

The overall level of the Great Ring multiverse is very high, surpassing most finite multiverses. Even the Pantheon, which hasn't yet completed unification within its multiverse, already has the power to crush the high-end combat power of all ordinary finite multiverses.

"Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Apollo, Athena, Ares."

"I'll choose a suitable target from these six."

Garon still listed Zeus as a backup option.

After all, as long as Zeus did not possess the top-tier god status comparable to the Supreme Heavenly Emperor, Garon had a certain chance of replacing him with his abilities as the Faceless Garon.

The problem was that Zeus stayed in the heavens and was not easy to reach.

"This place's river of time doesn't record any information about the Eternal Sun. He's well hidden."

"He's probably been dormant for over three hundred years, without action."

"That's understandable; he descended into the Olympus multiverse in a heavily injured state and needed time to recover. For an ancient existence like the Eternal Sun, three hundred years is just a blink of an eye."

The Eternal Sun is like a seasoned and patient hunter, lurking in the shadows, waiting for the moment when Apollo shows a flaw.

Garon did not inform the Eternal Sun in advance about his arrival in the Olympus multiverse.

Since he had no immediate plans to disturb the Eternal Sun, Garon did not use the Time Alliance contract to contact him.

After considering his future actions in the Olympus multiverse, the tufted seagull looked up at the sky.

The sun quietly dipped below the horizon, revealing only half of its face, casting a dusky glow over the azure sea, tinting it with a unique deep hue.

Before nightfall, a flock of seagulls flapped their wings and changed direction.

One tufted seagull stayed behind, separated from the flock, and after a moment of hesitation, as if confirming a direction, it leisurely flapped its wings and flew away between the boundless sky and sea.

At a normal seagull's flying speed, Garon maintained his disguised appearance, flying with purpose at a steady pace.

In a nearby sea area, Garon detected an island and decided to investigate.

However, it wasn't the island itself that attracted him, but the demigod creature he sensed on the island.

Demigod creatures are generally under the jurisdiction of the gods of Olympus.

The key point was that Garon 'saw' a future that intrigued him in these demigod creatures.

"This might be a good opportunity to achieve my goal."

With this in mind, the tufted seagull continued flying toward its destination.

As night fully replaced the day, and the dusky glow was replaced by the bright moonlight, the moon's clear, cold light shone on an island emerging from the sea.

Legend has it that in the Aegean Sea, seven beautiful sea nymphs live on a mysterious island that constantly moves and has no fixed coordinates.

This island is called Naxos, meaning the Island of Nymphs.

A human warrior once fought against pirates, and when his ship was destroyed, he floated on a piece of wood in the sea and was carried by the current to Naxos. On this island, he encountered the seven nymphs.

These nymphs healed his wounds, soothed his pain, and provided him with food.

The nymphs eat flowers, drink dew, and occasionally dance and sing in the sea. The human warrior witnessed their carefree life on Naxos and fell in love with each innocent nymph.

While struggling to decide which nymph to confess his love to, he woke up one morning to find himself inexplicably in a coastal harbor, feeling a sense of loss.

When he returned to the original sea area to seek his love, Naxos Island had vanished.

The human warrior recorded his experience, and over time it became a beautiful legend on the sea.

Many people scoffed at this, believing it to be a fabricated story.

But the legend is true.

Naxos Island is the home of seven sea nymphs, who share the same bloodline and are sisters.

On the beach of Naxos Island, a stunningly beautiful sea nymph was strolling.

Bathed in moonlight, her white feet sank slightly into the golden sand, and her pearl-like toes curled and relaxed with her steps, like pearls bouncing on a golden beach.

She is one of the sea nymphs, named Amphitrite.

Under the night sky, the beach was not dark, and the shells, pebbles, and sea snails washed up by the waves could be seen clearly, with their pink, red, blue, and multicolored appearances gleaming like jewels in the moonlight.

The sea nymph joyfully walked along the beach, bending down to pick up 'jewels.'

Finally, holding many 'jewels,' she sat on a rock on the island's coast. Her light blue gauze dress danced with the wind as she played with her 'jewels' under the moonlight, singing a beautiful, ethereal song.

In her melodious voice, the 'jewels' floated up, like colorful tiny meteors, dancing around her and forming a magnificent pattern with her song.

When the song reached a crescendo, the nymph stood on the rock, her graceful body performing a dynamic dance, sometimes as gentle as a breeze, sometimes as fierce as a storm, and sometimes as heavy as pouring rain. Her dance was ever-changing and vibrant.

After a while, the song stopped, and the dance ended.

With the end of the performance, the sea nymph's initially joyful expression turned somewhat gloomy.

"A dance without an audience, a song without listeners."

"What meaning does such a life hold?"

Amphitrite's sky-blue eyes showed a hint of melancholy as she murmured softly.

There are fifty sea nymphs in total, and she is one of them.

The sea nymphs have different duties: some guide lost ships in the sea, some save people who fall into the water, and some punish sailors who disrespect the gods. As for the seven sea nymphs of Naxos Island, their duty is quite dull, just to heal those who drift to their island and send them back to the mainland once healed.

The chance of someone drifting to Naxos Island is extremely low.

This doomed the sea nymphs here to a boring and tedious life.

Suddenly.

"A beautiful dance, a melodious song."

"Beautiful nymph, your song and dance have pleased me and are not meaningless."

A strange voice, as if coming from a distant time, sounded and reached the sea nymph's ears.

Amphitrite was slightly taken aback, then looked around.

"Who is speaking?"

The nymph stood up and first looked toward the sea.

The endless starlight fell from the sky, illuminating the sea like liquid silver, broken by the waves and then merging with it, turning into sparkling waves.

Then she looked up at the sky.

The night sky, like a black velvet cloth, greeted her eyes, with the bright crescent moon hanging like a white jade bow, and countless stars scattered across it, forming a splendid galaxy across the sky.

Amphitrite saw a seagull with a tuft on its head, bathed in moonlight and starlight, quietly watching her.

"Is it you speaking?"

The naive nymph blinked and curiously asked the tufted seagull.

She seemed to have no sense of caution, showing no vigilance against the sudden appearance of Garon.

"Of course, who else could

 it be?"

"A talking seagull? It's my first time seeing one. I've spoken to seagulls temporarily staying here, sung for them, danced for them, but they ignored me."

The nymph said.

"Are you really a seagull?"

"Yes, I am the God of Seagulls, a true god, the great deity worshipped by countless seagulls."

The nymph laughed and said, "Since when do seagulls worship gods? I'm not very smart, but I know seagulls don't have intelligence."

On the other side, the tufted seagull looked deep and said, "You think that because you live in a false world, in a fabricated history."

"I was born with the universe, older than the twelve Olympian gods."

"In ancient times, seagulls ruled the sky and earth. But during my slumber, humans rose, gods rose, covering the true history of seagulls ruling the world."

Garon spoke seriously and solemnly, making up nonsense.

On the other side, the nymph was startled by Garon's words, quickly raised a finger to her lips, and whispered, "If the main gods hear your nonsense, you'll be struck by divine lightning."

Then, the tufted seagull showed a human-like smile and said, "Really? It seems you don't believe it."

As he spoke, the tufted seagull raised its wings and gently waved.

In an instant, under the nymph's gaze, the stars in the sky began to spin, quickly arranging into the outline of a seagull, covering the night sky.

"Father of Heaven... this..."

The nymph stammered, momentarily speechless.

The tufted seagull waved its wings again, and the stars returned to their original positions.

"Do you believe it now?"

Garon looked down at the nymph. Despite being in the small form of a seagull, he exuded a majestic aura that even gods would be in awe of.

How could an ordinary sea nymph maintain her composure before Garon? All his words carried a charm that confused her mind, making her believe his nonsense.

"Great Seagull God, I don't know how to express my respect."

Garon looked at the sky with a melancholic tone and said, "Young nymph, you don't need to show respect."

"This era no longer belongs to me. Everything I knew has been buried in the sands of time."

Looking down at the nymph, Garon continued, "Your voice is like the moon and breeze over the sea, reminding me of past times and bringing me joy. If you have any wishes, I can grant them."

Instead of making a request, the nymph invited Garon, saying, "If you enjoy my songs and dances, you can stay on this island."

At the same time, she extended her white, jade-like arms, gently gesturing for the 'Seagull God' to sit.

Garon thought for a moment and then landed on the nymph's head instead of her hands.

The feeling was good. The tufted seagull stepped on her long, blue hair like seaweed and said, "It's a good suggestion. I can stay here for a while."

"Can I introduce you to my other sisters?"

The nymph said excitedly.

Garon shook his head and said, "No, I don't want to be noticed by too many people."

"Alright, so should you hide?"

"No need. They won't see or hear me."

Garon's voice directly echoed in the nymph's mind.

In the following days, the seagull Garon rode on the nymph's head, playing on Naxos Island, hiking, swimming, and leisurely listening to her beautiful voice and watching her graceful dance.

With this change in her monotonous life, the sea nymph showed unprecedented vitality, even making her six sisters wonder why she had suddenly become so active and cheerful.

The beautiful and leisurely days did not last long.

One night, after watching the nymph's dance, Garon said, "Young nymph, your vibrant and radiant self is even more beautiful, like a pearl of the sea."

"Even if no one appreciates your songs and dances, in solitude, you should hold your head high and show all your beauty."

"Are you leaving?" The nymph, sensitive by nature, detected the farewell tone in his words.

Garon nodded calmly and said, "No feast lasts forever."

Pausing for a moment in the face of her reluctant gaze, Garon continued, "Your songs and dances have pleased me. As a reward, when you face a crisis, call for me, pray to me, and I will return."

Then, Garon disappeared into the night.

The sea nymph felt a sense of loss as she listened to the sound of waves hitting the rocks, waiting for a long time. Finally, at dawn, she smiled and, following Garon's advice, wore a radiant smile.

He saw it all.

He hadn't truly left but transformed into a shifting cloud, hanging silently above Naxos Island, observing everything below.

Interacting with the sea nymph was not a whim for Garon.

He saw her future.

In her future, she would have a significant connection with an Olympian god.

Poseidon, Zeus's brother, resides in the earthly seas, not in the heavens.

Garon couldn't see the detailed future of beings of his level, but the information he had was enough.

Garon had identified his target.
