Chapter 346 - Chapter 346: A Thief in Khepros

As morning came, all the boys would be awakened with a scream. "WHERE IS IT!? WHERE IS IT, WHERE IS IT, WHERE IS IT!!??" Stolas would shout, looking top to bottom, inside and out across the whole room, panicking and scampering around like an animal. The boys try to wake up and see what was going on, noticing the tape in his recorder is completely different, and immediately went to help him. Solomon was quick on noticing the window was a bit soggy, quickly running up to examine the scene and feel some wetness on the floor.

"Someone took it. C'mon!" He'd shout, having the three try to leave the room and come down to the kitchen.

Meanwhile, as Limosa was making some breakfast, Ichabon was reading up on the news, sipping on some coffee. "Hmm...Heavy forecast of rainfall this afternoon. Sightings of the Umibozu are being made near the left side of Khepros' path. Folks are advised to board up their houses and try not to anger it today...We may need to do some protection, my love." He'd read aloud. As he rolled the paper, he'd notice the children panicking and would try to comfort them. "Hey, Hey! Are you okay? You got the news early or something-"

"Papa, did you SAW anyone that went into our house? ANYONE at all??" Harvard asked, bringing a bit of surprise to the two adults.

"Not that we know of, far as I'm concerned. Did we had a break-in?" Limosa asked, prompting Ichabon to grab a scroll and run towards Harvard's room, setting up his magic in the perimeter. A Spell in the form of a clock, rewinding the events that transpired within his room, backing himself up so that he can see the window opening and the water staining both the floors with its steps and the walls near it. Everyone was quick on following the man and seeing such a display occur, causing Limosa to ball her fists a bit. "We did...Can you see who was the person responsible?"

"Don't think so. Most of this Magic records the setting, not the people involved. I can infer, though, that whoever it is was of average height and had a heavy weight." Ichabon would point towards the floorboards and some of the plush toys that scattered around the room, imprints left behind, the weight pushing them in somewhat. "Had we got some forensics involved, we may be able to trace them back with such prints left. Wherever he was, he was soggy as hell. Water stains all over our flooring." He'd keep his investigation going as the boys notice the clouds were beginning to darken. He'd turn his head around to the children the moment he caught wind of it. "Oh! Right! You boys should be careful out there. A big monster's coming up on Khepros' side. Try not to throw random insults today, and see if you can find a bottomless barrel if you plan on going out."

As he warned the children, Harvard would notice that someone was approaching. A thin figure with sharp horns and claws darting around the window. It took him a second to see what he was planning to do once the silhouette raised its hands. "MOVE OUT THE WAY!!!" He'd shout as he reached out to his parents, with Solomon and Stolas working to set up a barrier of light and stars to block what was coming, and Zazel summoning a sigil to drag them away.

KRACC!!!! SHIKK!!! SHIKK!!!

Blood.

Wood.

Stone.

The room became a mess upon the attack, a collage of spikes that pierced and wrecked the place in one fell swoop. Despite not having any chance to react, the two parents were unscathed, shoved aside by a long arm, trying to regain their consciousness and be met with who was forced to take the frontal assault. Their son, now a living pincushion. Spikes that were driven across his body, some even through his head. At first, they were horrified, their hands shaking as they try to reach out to him. Such fears however were replaced by a different emotion once they heard his breath. Relief that washed over them, before shock and surprise took over. Even in such a mangled state, he was not just okay, but looked as if the attack didn't feel like anything to the child. Even as blood leaked out of his eyes and his organs were on full display from the spikes, he still remained standing.

The boy's extended arms would try to recall itself, catching his breath, before realizing what he's revealed to them. His fears being made further and further, as he'd swat the spikes away and ran off. "I-I gotta go! You two stay safe, okay!?" He'd ask, moving the spikes out of his room as he runs off to the public. His friends quickly followed in pursuit, letting the two parents to stay in place and think through it all.

"Has he...." Limosa asked, a nod from Ichabon confirming her thoughts. On that moment, her head slumped down, staring at the floor. Her husband tried to comfort her, but once she looked up to see how she was feeling, she had the biggest smile on her face, almost manic when coupled with her wide, dilated eyes. "KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! WE DID IT!!! WE'VE ACHIEVED IT!!!! DECADES OF OUR BLOODLINE SEARCHING FOR SOMEONE TO TAKE UP THE MANTLE!! DECADES OF OUR KIN HOPING, NO, BEGGING, ONE OF US BECOMES THE BEASTS THEMSELVES!!! WE DID IT! WE DID IT, WE DID IT, WE DID IT, WE DID IT, WE DID IT!!!! KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!" Her high pitched squeals would cause her to roll around like a child, her locket immediately activating so that she avoids getting stabbed by the glass.

Ichabon can't help but look at her and sigh. "Oh god..."

"DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS!? DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS?!?!"

"It means that we have a new achievement on your name...?"

"WE HAVE A NEW ACHIEVEMENT!!!"

"Haa...You really are too excitable for this..." Ichabon can't help but laugh, though as he did, Limosa would grab him by the hand and drag him out.

"WELL!? We aren't gonna leave his son there! He's distraught by us! Let's go help our baby! We don't want him to get hurt or WORSE out there!" She'd get herself into position to soar off, while Ichabon would try to take out a scroll, hands of rock being made, quickly shattering by a single strike from the Mother to make it spectral, allowing him to hold onto her close as she soars across the scarab's back to search for their son.
