The hours that followed their return saw the arrest of all fifty-two locks soldiers who were on duty at the Smaller Fortress. The villagers they had returned with were also confined in a holding at Baldrig Castle. While Witch Hunter Khaid led a squad of witch hunters that journeyed to the Red Sea Village in a bid to bring back the remaining villagers and also to match the physical evidence there with what they spoke of.
Witch Hunter Khaid returned empty handed. Not only were the remaining villagers no where to be found at the cave where they left them and it's surroundings, but the remains of the six dragons and assassins whom they defeated were missing as well.
So save for the villagers they brought back, every other single evidence had been wiped away so neatly it was almost commendable if it didn't hint at a far deeper conspiracy.
