Eros was standing in the middle of monsters and men and he stood there like an angry god who wanted to destroy everything before him.
He spun his sword stylishly then sprang into the air and sliced the monsters to bits.
' If I have to kill everyone in this game to get more power then so be it. I'll always get what I want ' Eros thought as he attacked the monsters relentlessly.
The men around him stood in shock as he killed all the beast without giving the other men a chance to fight.
He stood in the middle breathing hard when he finished off the monsters.
" Eros, that was amazing ! You're even better than I heard you were." One of the men said as he approached Eros but Eros wasn't flattered. He killed the man with one quick blow.
All the men around him gasped.
" I thought you said he was on our side." One of them shouted in panic.
" E- Eros. He came here to fight with us. How could you kill one of our men ?" An older man asked Eros , trembling in fear as he did.
" Humans are all the same to me. Insignificant fools , who care way too much for others."
Eros raised his hand with his sword and all the men panicked. They all ran off as fast as they could but Eros' power held them in place and he killed them all.
The men he killed were criminals but they thought it was everyone and Eros against the game.
They didn't know that Eros didn't care about them.
' I've done two good things today . I need to make sure I do ten times as much evil now . I can't allow myself to get weak like Hudson.' Eros thought and he smirked sinisterly.
' Hudson's so pathetic it makes me sick.' Eros thought, blood running down his lip as he smirked bitterly.
The battlefield was bloody when the mysterious player walked by with a girl following him. His long black hair and tall toned frame made him stand out.
The place was in ruins and the girl who was walking closely behind him got distracted by the chaos around her.
" Cousin Lure , stay close. You need to stay far away from Eros. I heard a rumor that his pheromones kill women." The mysterious player said, his long black hair blowing slightly behind him as he grabbed the girl's hand and pulled her closer.
The girl nodded. Her dark blonde hair touched her waist and was blown gently by the wind as she walked.
They snuck by Eros quickly as he stood there taking in the sight of the malicious mess he'd made.
From where Eros stood he could see more large monsters approaching.
[ New Players detected. Planet of Origin : Unknown . Monster system being upgraded... ]
The system said and Eros turned around to see the mysterious player and the girl he was with as they snuck off.
Eros glared at them but decided they weren't worth the hassle.
The sky darkened. There was a flash of lightning and Hudson appeared behind Eros on the battlefield.
" If you're here to beg me to accept you again, just leave now. I won't change my mind." Eros said as he sensed Hudson's presence behind him.
" I didn't even notice you were here." Hudson lied and Eros gritted his teeth angrily.
His fangs looked threatening.
He turned to face Hudson .
" Say one more word and the next thing I kill won't be a monster." Eros warned Hudson.
A loud growl interrupted their conversation as the monsters approached them crushing buildings under their feet .
Eros took flight quickly.
" Kami , Arrows of Horror ! " Eros shouted and he was immediately equipped with deadly arrows that he shot at the creatures that were approaching .
These arrows were long and sharp and pierced straight through a beast killing it with one blow.
Hudson's eyes widened as he looked at Eros. He gasped in fear.
' Did he get scarier after disowning me ? He leveled up and his power evolved into something even more deadly.' Hudson thought and he started backing away from Eros but something in him didn't want him to leave.
He stopped right there watching Eros shoot arrows at the monsters and as he did he felt admiration consume him.
Eros had managed to mesmerize the human boy once again. Hudson was no longer afraid ; he just wanted to be able to call Eros his Master again.
Eros shot an arrow through a beast and leaped through the air to catch the arrow just in time to throw it straight into the other monster that was coming towards him.
The monsters crashed to the floor and as they did Hudson flew into the air to avoid being crushed by them.
Hudson flew up to Eros' side and attacked a monster as it walked up behind Eros but the monster swatted him away sending him crashing to the ground.
He winced in pain and struggled to his feet.
Eros was dominating the battlefield and Hudson was feeling more disappointed in himself.
He wanted to show Eros strength but he was nowhere near as strong as he needed to be.
Hudson took flight again and as a large monster attacked Eros Hudson found himself by his side fighting the monster off by blasting it with power.
" I really don't need your help." Eros told him as he ascended over the human flipping in mid air to slice the monster and for a second while he was above him their eyes met and Hudson felt something bigger than himself.
' I need to show this person my strength.' Hudson thought and in an instant Hudson drew his sword of power out of thin air .
It had dark purple flames coming off of it and as he tried to slice the monster his sword was met by a familiar surface.
Eros' sword clashed right into his, preventing him from ever touching the monster.
" If you want to be useful , Go find YOUR OWN fight." Eros shouted at him , coming at him with all the strength he had.
Eros was now hovering between Hudson and the injured monster as it growled loudly.
" I'll kill this monster for you." Hudson offered as he pushed back hard with the sword causing Eros to move backwards.
Eros gritted his teeth , seeing everything Hudson did as an act of defiance.
" I'm fine. I'll kill it myself !" Eros shouted at Hudson furiously as he lifted his sword , flipped through the air and swung his sword at Hudson aggressively.
Hudson dodged the blow and stared at Eros sadly , feeling betrayed.
Hudson's eyes became wet.
He backed away .
They were now right above the monster and fighting each other instead of all the corrupted creatures that walked below them.
" Don't run away now. You were asking for this.You wanted to kill a monster, well I'm the monster you hate the most, right?" Eros taunted Hudson and Hudson felt chills.
His eyes widened as he remembered himself calling Eros a monster.
[ Battlefield being closed off. Players will be trapped. Attack the beast to get points . Kill any monster within the allotted time and you will survive. ]
Hudson swung his sword , scratching Eros' arm slightly.
Eros glared at him with contempt.
Eros laughed wickedly.
Venus and Enmei came running in their direction with Alto and Yukina following closely behind them.
Eros striked back but their swords met again. They pushed each other back ignoring the monsters around them. They ascended into the air with rage. Eros' sword disintegrated and he smirked mischievously.
[ 30 minutes remaining ]
" You're gonna love this." Eros teased and his eyes glowed red.
Hudson stopped immediately , not knowing how to react to his sudden change of tone.
" Kami, Arrows of HORROR !" Eros shouted and the bow and arrow that appeared in his hand was even bigger than the ones before.
The arrows were sharp and ragged with a gothic design and blades all over it.
Hudson felt fear like never before and moved as quickly as he could.
" Why are you fighting each other ? This isn't how the game works . Hudson, do not engage any further. You both need to stop." Venus warned and Hudson leaped into the air dodging every attack Eros made.
The monsters swatted at them in the air but they evaded all the creature's blows just to keep fighting each other instead.
" I'm not going to stop until he learns his lesson." Eros told Venus and Enmei scowled.
The monsters closed in on them but they just flew higher determined to hurt each other instead of the creatures that were coming after them .
The mysterious player appeared in mid air smashing a monster's face with his pole then he disappeared again just as quickly as he had appeared.
A monster stretched its hand, almost grabbing Eros but Venus shot vines onto it, wrapping it up into a ball , causing it to fall to the ground.
Eros shot an arrow that ripped through the air , heading straight for the human boy and Hudson vanished.
Hudson reappeared right behind him.
" You're right. You're a monster but not the kind worth killing." Hudson said , whispering the last part just to piss Eros off .
He pushed Eros aggressively and then blasted him with power.
" Venus. You need to stop them now before they kill each other. They're the strongest in the game. We don't stand a chance without them." Enmei begged and Venus nodded.
Eros fell to the floor but Venus grabbed him with her vines, pulling him safely to the ground then she grabbed Hudson out the air with her vines and pulled him down to the ground as well
" Flower Wall !" Venus said and she created a cage of flowers around them both, separating them from each other and keeping them restrained.
" I've got to hand it to you Hudson no one has ever been so weak that it made Eros this pissed. You're the only one." Alto teased Hudson cruelly and Hudson scowled as he sat on the ground watching Venus and Yukina take down monsters around them.
Alto walked away feeling satisfied.
The mysterious player reappeared in front of Hudson smirking. Hudson stared at him in awe.
" You aren't afraid of fighting with Eros which means you must be strong." The mysterious player smirked and Hudson stared at the floor thinking he was just teasing him.
" I got a few girls who'd like you. Your strength is sexy." The mysterious player told Hudson and Hudson's eyes widened but when he looked up to face the man in front of him he was gone.
Hudson thought about what he said , a bit of hope found its way to him and he glared at Eros who looked extremely pissed about being tied up in a flower cage.
He sighed deeply, knowing that Eros still wanted nothing to do with him.
The battle continued around them and Hudson looked for Enmei but she was nowhere in sight. Hudson struggled to get free.
' Enmei, where the hell are you? I really hope you're ok. I just need to kill one monster and then you and I can leave together.' Hudson's thoughts were desperate as he became more and more anxious about his missing friend.
He tried to use his powers but he couldn't.
"Don't worry, she's fine. She probably just doesn't want anything to do with you." Eros replied to Hudson's thoughts
He struggled to get free and Eros just stood up as if he wasn't tied up to begin with.
Hudson glared at him with Envy.
' We share the same power but it's like he uses it differently from me.' Hudson thought his face crumpled in frustration.
' Maybe the problem isn't my strength. Maybe it's me and the way I use it.'
Hudson thought , still struggling to get free while monsters and girls fought behind him.
A large monster approached him and he panicked.
" Venus set me free !" He screamed and Venus turned around and used her power to remove her vines from him.
Hudson sprung to his feet and he immediately began looking for Enmei. His green eyes scanned the entire battlefield for her , but she wasn't there.
" Hudson, you only have two minutes to kill a monster or you will be eliminated from the game." Venus warned him.
She noticed him looking all over the battlefield.
A monster approached him and he drew his sword of power but Eros swooped up and attacked it with his arrows.
Eros smirked.
If he killed all the monsters then Hudson would have to be eliminated and that's exactly what he wanted.
[ In Game KILL Count. Hudson : Zero. Goal : 1 ]
Hudson was angry because he only needed to eliminate one monster to survive but each monster he attacked Eros decided to interfere and stand in his way , preventing Hudson from passing the game.
[ Time remaining: 1 minute . Kill a monster before the time runs out or face the consequences. ]
Eros stood closely behind Hudson , watching every move the human boy made.
' At this rate if Eros doesn't let me attack a monster by myself. I'll definitely get eliminated. I just need to get as far away from him as possible ' Hudson thought.
The timer showed 40 seconds
Hudson teleported as far away from Eros as he could and right in front of a horrifying monster.
" Kami , arrows of affliction." Hudson said but nothing happened.
He panicked, running away from the monster in a flash.
" How the hell does this power work ?" Hudson exclaimed as he panted hard .
He was hiding from the monster behind a building.
" Kami , Arrows of HORROR !" Eros' voice echoed from behind him and Eros' arrows pierced right through the monster that Hudson had planned to kill.
Hudson glared at him , ready to abandon the game rules and try to kill Eros instead but Eros just smirked as the human boy approached him.
" Admit it you're afraid to kill these monsters." Eros said and Hudson's eyes widened in shock.
He felt exposed. He clenched his fist feeling anger and frustration run through him.
" You can't make the blow you need to survive because you're afraid of killing someone else. You still think these monsters are human, right ?" Eros said his words mocking and teasing Hudson.
The Human boy's face bent in anger. Hudson was afraid of killing and that's why he couldn't control his powers. His fear made him hesitate and deep down he still had imposter syndrome.
He was always insecure about his strength.
" You're wrong. I just don't completely understand how to use my Powers yet."
Hudson was on the brink of attacking Eros when he was approached by a monster. It was a large monster that had managed to evade arrows and power attacks and crushed everything around it , but it didn't really seem to be trying to kill anyone.
" I'm not afraid, Eros."
Hudson quickly turned to face the large monster sprung to the air and immediately tried to use his powers again.
This time he didn't hold back.
" Arrows of Affliction!" Hudson shouted and Eros flew higher
" Arrows of Horror ! " Eros shouted .
Both of their arrows were released at the same time, almost touching as they headed towards the monster but only one arrow managed to pierce through the terrifying creature.
As it fell it started changing form.
And as it transformed back into its original form it became a girl.
A girl with black hair and a special place in her heart for Hudson.
" Enmei ?! " Hudson shouted in distress at the girl who was now bleeding out from the wound in her side.
He ran to her side to discover that his arrow was indeed the one that hit her.
The arrow was still sticking out of her side , reminding him that his best friend bleeding out right now was his fault.
This couldn't actually be Enmei, could it ? Was it the game playing tricks on him ?
He slightly turned the wounded girl to face him, panicking as he did
[ One Monster Dead. Hudson, YOU WILL survive ]
The human boy screamed, a loud and sorrowful scream .
