Chapter Seventeen (Part One) – The Beginning of the Ice Explosion
From the moment I looked into her eyes, I knew something had changed. She was no longer the calm girl I had known before. She was fierce, stubborn, eager to dominate. But I am not someone who lets things go that way.
"Aislin, are you serious? If you think I'm standing in the way of your happiness, then do what you think is right." I said it as I watched her eyes filled with determination.
Aislin said: "I want to fight with you, but this is different! Aison, I want to test your strength. The relationship between two dragons like us is not built on words, but on greatness! If I defeat you now, then you will have no right to stop me from anything!"
I shook my head with a heavy sigh.
You are a thousand years weaker than me, Aislin…
But she didn't wait for my words. She leapt toward me at an astonishing speed, her wings flashing with a dark icy glow, and her claws extended toward me. It was clear that she had no intention of backing down.
"Alright…" I muttered as I extended my wings and blocked her strike. Our wings collided, and a shocking force burst between us as if the earth itself trembled.
I grabbed her right claw before it could pierce my chest, focused my icy energy into my other fist, then delivered a strong punch toward her stomach. Aislin gasped, her eyes widened from the pain, but she didn't fall.
Aislin said: "An ice dragon doesn't fall from a single blow!" she screamed as she pulled back and extended her wings, drawing a circle of ice around us.
I let out a thunderous roar, and icy vapor gathered around her to form ice spears that shot toward me at deadly speed. I raised my wing and blocked the first spear, but the second slipped past and struck my shoulder. The muscle froze for a moment, but I didn't let the pain distract me.
"You're not the only one who controls ice!" I roared, and directed my claws toward the ground, shaking the ice beneath her feet.
Waves of icy fissures surged toward her. She dodged two, but the third caught her leg and held her for a moment. That moment was all I needed. I lunged at her, pushed her to the ground, and stood over her, staring into her angry eyes.
"Aislin, this isn't just a fight for you, is it?" I asked her in a low voice.
Aislin said under her breath: "I wanted to test you… to know who deserves… who dominates."
I looked into her eyes, burning with the desire to fight, and smiled coldly.
"Well then… I'll show you why they say Aison Drakon is the master of ice."
I raised my wings, and from beneath them surged a storm of sharp ice blades, swirling around us like a deadly vortex. The battle was not over yet, it had just begun.
The ground trembled beneath my feet.
Ice breezes whirled around me, sharp as knives.
This was not the time for hesitation… Aislin stood before me, her blue eyes now burning with wild defiance.
I roared, the sound erupting from deep within my chest like a polar storm, carrying with it the stillness of death.
She did not retreat.
I spread my wings, and with every flap, sharp crystalline shards scattered toward her.
But she pushed me back and leaped into the air, spinning like a snowstorm, deflecting my attack with a shield of pure ice that erupted from her body.
"Aislin!" I shouted as I lunged at her, my ice claws in my hands like swords, "Show me how far you've come!"
I will not take it easy on you, even if you're my only sister.
Our bodies collided in the sky, and a wave of ice exploded around us. The air itself froze. Everything vanished… all sounds… all thoughts… all that remained was the desire to surpass.
We exchanged blows like two clashing storms.
Her claws dug into my wing, but I grabbed her by the neck and pulled her toward the ground. She screamed as she fell, but at the last moment, she froze the air beneath her to stabilize herself, then sent a spear of ice toward me.
I barely dodged it and charged after her, my body spinning in the air like an icy meteor.
"This is not enough!" I shouted as I unleashed a series of ice blades, launching them from my wings at incredible speed toward her body.
The strikes exploded around her, but she held her ground… Despite the bruises beginning to form, despite the small wounds on her body, she smiled.
She said, Aislin: "I want you to fight me with all your strength, Aison! Let me see you… don't disappoint me!"
The ice energy gathered in my chest.
I opened my mouth and unleashed an unparalleled icy breath, a dense wave of pure snow that froze everything it touched, rushing toward her with overwhelming force.
Her vision disappeared for a moment amidst the icy mist, but I felt her… getting closer.
She suddenly appeared from behind, her claw aimed at my neck.
But I was ready.
I grabbed her.
I froze her.
"I am the dominant one here, Aislin." I whispered in a deep voice and shoved her back to the ground, this time harder.
Her body collided with the ice-covered rocks, but she laughed… it was a battle between us… but also a dance, a challenge, a fusion between combat and emotions.
As I relaxed my push, she thought the fight was over.
But she was struck maliciously, as my body was thrown back a distance of 10 meters.
That blow made me feel dizzy.
At the same time, Aislin rose into the sky and began launching her skills.
In that moment, thick ice clouds covered the sky.
This is the skill I taught her, I didn't expect she would use it against me.
