Chapter Eighteen - Part Two: The Beginning of the Ice Explosion
As I relaxed my push, she thought the fight was over.
But she was struck maliciously, as my body was thrown back a distance of 10 meters.
That blow made me feel dizzy.
At the same time, Aislin rose into the sky and began launching her skills.
In that moment, thick ice clouds covered the sky.
This is the skill I taught her, I didn't expect she would use it against me.
The "Snowstorm" skill summons dense icy clouds that cover the sky, before cold snowflakes begin to fall heavily. However, this snow is not just a natural phenomenon—it contains pure ice energy capable of freezing anything it touches. This skill can be used to create a destructive snowstorm, or to turn the battlefield into a cold icy field that paralyzes the enemies' movements.
The "Snowstorm" skill is not just an offensive skill; it can also be used to control the battlefield, disrupt the enemies, and create an environment favorable to the user. Whether used to slow down opponents or flood the world with a massive ice storm, this skill grants complete control over the power of winter!
The abilities of this skill are as follows:
1.Accumulating Snowfall
• The snow quickly covers the ground, making it slippery and frozen, slowing the movement of any being not resistant to ice.
• The dense accumulation of snow can obstruct vision and create an environment suitable for ambushes and surprise attacks.
2.Deadly Snowflakes
• Some of the falling snowflakes carry concentrated ice energy, and upon contact with a target, they can freeze its limbs or slow the flow of its energy, making combat difficult for it.
• The user can control the size and density of these snowflakes, making them either soothing and gentle or destructive and deadly.
3.Great Ice Storm
• If this skill is activated at full power, it transforms into a massive ice storm capable of covering a wide area entirely with snow and ice, freezing any weak beings before the intense cold.
•The cold winds accompanying this storm can push enemies away or hinder their attacks.
4.Environmental Impact
•The temperature drops suddenly, making the air itself unbearably cold, potentially causing the energy of enemies who rely on heat or fire to decrease.
•The snowstorm can turn into solid ice layers on the ground, allowing the user to create fast-moving ice paths or even solid ice defensive barriers.
However, this skill also has limitations, which are as follows:
Limitations:
• The skill consumes a large amount of spiritual energy, especially if used on a wide scale.
• Enemies who possess strong fire or the ability to resist ice can reduce its effect, and those with absolute fire may even be able to face it head-on.
• The snow may also affect allies, making it difficult to move or fight in the frozen environment.
In that moment, Aislin said: "Snowfall Rain."
When I saw the snowflakes begin to descend like pouring rain, I created an ice shield around my body, then quickly dug a hole in the ground, which froze instantly, turning the place into a frozen battlefield. The cold winds were blowing around me, as if they carried deadly ice shards.
I quickly spread my wings, trying to take control of the situation, but the snow continued to fall heavily, covering the ground rapidly, making it slippery and cold. At that moment, I realized that any wrong move would slow down my steps and could cause me to slip.
But I stopped. I knew the battle was not over yet.
As the snowflakes grew denser, I began digging a tunnel underground, moving away from the center of the storm.
And in the moment when the effect of the "Great Ice Storm" intensified, I completely vanished from sight, leaving behind an ice statue in my shape, protected inside the ice shield, making it appear as if it was me.
While Aislin was preoccupied with the storm, I silently emerged from the tunnel, then opened my wings and launched toward her at lightning speed…
I was soaring through the sky, my breath turning into cold mist fading in the wind. The heavy snow was still falling, but it no longer posed an obstacle to me; instead, it became a veil that concealed my movements. From a distance, I looked at Aislin—she was still in her place, hovering within the storm she had created, her wings spreading ice as if she were the Queen of Winter.
But I wasn't there to admire her… I was there to fight her.
I gathered my spiritual energy in my chest and felt the heart of the dragon within me beating powerfully, feeding my wings with frozen chill. I began activating a sub-skill of "Snowfall" — Hidden Ice Spear. Dozens of ice spears silently formed around me, and I directed them toward her.
But I didn't release them yet.
I was testing her patience… testing her control over the storm.
Then I whispered inside myself, in a voice only the ice could hear:
"Let us dance among the snow, Aislin."
And in a moment, I folded my wings and launched toward her at lightning speed, every ice spear following me like a tail of white death…
In the moment I approached Aislin, she opened her blue eyes and stared at me, as if she sensed my arrival despite the roar of the storm swallowing every sound. Our gazes met in the sky, amidst the snowflakes dancing wildly, and I knew then… what was about to happen wouldn't be just a clash between two dragons, but a battle between two wills.
She raised her hand lightly, and her wings exploded with immense icy energy, forming a shield of nine compacted ice layers. In a swift moment, she shifted the trajectory of her body, and managed to block my spears with that shield, avoiding a direct collision with me.
In that moment, we were looking into each other's eyes.
Aislin said: "You tricked me! You turned into a mole and escaped underground… that's cheating!"
I smiled, "Oh, my beautiful sister Aislin, that's not an escape, but a plan and battle tactic. And you must know that in combat… there is no such thing as honor. Have you ever heard the saying: battle is a trick?"
Now the important thing… is that I will get serious with you. I will make you submit.
Aislin laughed lightly.
Aislin said: "Oh, really? I'm waiting to see how you'll do that. Well, show me what you've got… we, the dragon race, respect only the strong. Brother, show me how you will do that.
At that moment, while we were still staring into each other's eyes, my body collided with hers in a sudden surge. I didn't wait any longer. I let out an icy roar that pierced the layers of air, and thrust my body, covered in layers of hardened ice armor, toward her.
Aislin moved with her usual grace and elegance, spinning in the sky like a dance to a winter melody, but I was expecting it. Every move she made was etched into my memory, as if we were repeating a deadly dance we had done before.
I surged toward her.
With one focused strike, I used one of the long ice spears, not to pierce her… but to plant it into the ground through her wings.
Then, using my front claws, I grabbed her body and forcefully drove it downward. She collided with the frozen ground, and the ice layer beneath her exploded, leaving a deep, misty pit.
I raised my claws above her and struck the ground with force, causing ice pillars to emerge around her, completely trapping her in the center of the pit.
I breathed slowly, the white vapor escaping from my mouth and disappearing into the cold storm.
I looked at her and said:
"You are pinned, Aislin… this is not the end, but the beginning of your realization of my power."
Silence followed… except for the whispers of the snow still falling, as if it were blessing the one who had won the first round of the dragon's dance.
We are not opponents… we are two storms of ice… colliding to reveal who is stronger.
Aislin, from this day forward, you… and what follows will be a battle that neither you nor I will ever forget.
{Third-Person Perspective}
The cave was entered.
Selina was asleep, yet at that moment, she opened her eyes and looked toward the source of the dragon's roar. She managed to witness what was happening.
She recognized this roar as the roar of her daughter Aislin. She was confused about why Aislin would let out this roar. It was not a roar resulting from a battle or a roar of annoyance, but something else.
Meanwhile, in front of her were two ice dragons intertwined, where the male dragon was pressing down on the female dragon beneath her, and his wings were blocking everything outside.
After seeing this scene, she closed her eyes and went back to sleep. She knew this would not end soon. These struggles would last at least a week. During this time, they would lose their senses. At some point, they would forget everything. All that would remain in their minds was the desire for some things.
They would not care about anything else. They were no longer children to her.
She herself had gone through this stage…
