Chapter 135 - who is val?

I slept for several hours, my body recovering from the injuries I sustained during our scouting mission. When I finally woke up, I felt refreshed and rejuvenated. Father's wing was still wrapped around me, and I smiled, feeling grateful for his care.

As I stirred, Father's eyes opened, and he smiled back at me. "Feel better?" he asked, his voice soft and concerned.

I nodded, stretching my wings and arching my back. "Yes, Father. Thank you for taking care of me."

Father's wing unwrapped from around me, and he stood up, his joints creaking slightly. "Let's get you some food," he said. "You must be starving."

I nodded, my stomach growling in agreement. As we walked towards the cave entrance, I saw Lyriath and Mother waiting for us, concern etched on their faces.

"How are you feeling, Tharros?" Mother asked, her voice gentle.

I smiled, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. "I'm fine, Mother. Thanks to Father's care."

Lyriath grinned, clapping me on the back. "Glad to see you're okay, bro. We were worried sick about you."

As we ate and drank, I realized that there was something Mother and Father wanted to talk to me about. They exchanged a glance, and Father cleared his throat.

"Tharros, we've been discussing the anomalies," Father said, his voice serious. "We think it's time we told you and Lyriath more about what's going on."

I leaned forward, my curiosity piqued. What did they know about the anomalies? And what did it mean for our family?

"Tell us everything," Lyriath said, his eyes locked intently on Father. "What's going on with the anomalies?"

Father's expression turned grave, and he leaned forward, his voice taking on a serious tone. "We've been studying the anomalies for some time now, and we've made some... disturbing discoveries."

Mother's eyes met mine, and I saw a flicker of concern there. "The anomalies seem to be connected to an ancient power," she said, her voice measured. "One that could potentially threaten our entire world."

I felt a shiver run down my spine as I listened to Mother's words. An ancient power? What kind of power could be so threatening?

"What kind of power?" Lyriath asked, his voice filled with curiosity.

Father's eyes locked onto ours, his gaze intense. "We're not entirely sure," he admitted. "But we believe it's connected to the ancient dragons who once ruled our world. Dragons with powers beyond anything we've ever seen."

I felt my mind racing with questions and fears. What did this mean for our family? For our world? And what role did we play in all of this?

"What's our next move?" I asked, determination rising within me.

Father's expression turned resolute. "We'll continue to study the anomalies, and we'll prepare for the worst. We'll do everything in our power to protect our family and our world."

I nodded, feeling a sense of purpose wash over me. I was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead, knowing that my family was by my side.

Father sighed. "There is an ancient lore text that said that a dragonet or a young dragon that can defeat it, but I kinda doubt it!"

"Defeat it?" Lyriath repeated, his brow furrowed in concern. "What do you mean, Father? What exactly are we up against?"

Father's expression turned grave, his eyes clouding over with a mixture of worry and determination. "The lore speaks of a powerful entity, one that dwells within the heart of the anomaly. It's said to be a test, a trial by fire that only the strongest and most worthy can pass."

I leaned forward, my curiosity piqued. "And you think a dragonet or a young dragon can defeat it?" I asked, skepticism evident in my tone.

Father shrugged. "The lore says so, but I'm not convinced. The entity is said to be ancient and powerful, with abilities that defy explanation. I'm not sure even a strong dragon can defeat it."

Lyriath's eyes locked onto Father's, his gaze intense. "We'll do it, Father. We'll face whatever is inside and come out victorious."

I nodded in agreement, determination rising within me. We would face the challenge head-on, together, as a family.

I question, "Whoever this young dragon that can defeat the anomalies will it survive?"

Father's expression turned somber, his eyes clouding over with concern. "That's the question, isn't it? The lore doesn't specify whether the young dragon will survive the encounter or not. It's possible that defeating the anomalies will come at a great cost, perhaps even the dragon's life."

Lyriath's brow furrowed in worry. "Do we really think it's worth the risk?" he asked.

Father's gaze locked onto ours, his eyes burning with determination. "We have to try," he said. "If there's even a chance that a young dragon can defeat the anomalies and save our world, we owe it to ourselves and to future generations to take that chance."

I nodded in agreement, feeling a sense of resolve wash over me. We would face the challenge head-on, no matter the risks. But the question still lingered: would the young dragon survive?

I question, "Is there any way that it can survive?"

Father answered, "If it is strong enough and gets some help to save it, then yeah! But if it is too late, it will die of a sacrifice."

I nodded, taking in Father's words. "So, it's possible for the young dragon to survive if it gets the right help and is strong enough," I said, trying to process the weight of the situation.

Father's expression was grave. "Yes, but it's a big if. The anomalies are powerful, and the cost of defeating them could be high. If the young dragon is too weakened or injured during the process, it might not be possible to save it."

Lyriath spoke up, his voice filled with determination. "We'll make sure that doesn't happen, Father. We'll do everything in our power to help the young dragon survive."

Father's eyes locked onto Lyriath's, a hint of a smile on his face. "I know you will, son. We'll do everything we can to support and protect the young dragon. But ultimately, the outcome will depend on the dragon's own strength and resilience."

I felt a sense of resolve wash over me, knowing that we would do everything in our power to help the young dragon survive and succeed in its quest to defeat the anomalies.

"But Father," I asked, "who is this young dragon? Is it one of us, or someone else entirely?"

Father's expression turned thoughtful, his eyes gazing into the distance. "The lore doesn't specify," he said. "It simply says that a young dragon will come, one who possesses great strength and courage. We don't know if it's one of our own kin, or a dragon from another clan or region."

Lyriath's brow furrowed in concern. "But what if it's us?" he asked. "What if one of us is the young dragon destined to defeat the anomalies?"

I felt a shiver run down my spine as I considered the possibility. Could it be true? Was one of us destined to face the anomalies and save the world?

Father's eyes locked onto ours, his gaze intense. "We'll prepare you both for the challenge ahead," he said. "We'll teach you everything we know, and help you develop the strength and skills you'll need to succeed."

I nodded, feeling a sense of determination rise within me. I was ready to face whatever lay ahead, knowing that my family was behind me. But a part of me couldn't help but wonder: was I the young dragon destined to defeat the anomalies? And what would be the cost of victory?

I question, "Is the young dragon hatch yet?" Father hesitated and answered,"It is possible it is not yet hatch at all, and thank fully it not you!"

I felt a mix of relief and concern at Father's words. "You think it's not hatched yet?" I asked, trying to process the implications.

Father nodded. "Yes, it's possible. The lore doesn't specify when the young dragon will be born or hatched. It's possible that the dragon is still in its egg, or hasn't even been conceived yet."

Lyriath spoke up, his voice filled with curiosity. "But how will we know when the young dragon is ready? How will we find it?"

Father's expression turned serious. "We'll have to be vigilant and prepared. We'll need to watch for signs and portents, and be ready to act when the time comes. And when we find the young dragon, we'll need to be careful. The anomalies are powerful, and those who seek to defeat them will be in great danger."

I nodded, feeling a sense of determination rise within me. We would be ready, I thought. We would find the young dragon and help it defeat the anomalies, no matter what it took. But a part of me couldn't help but wonder: what if the young dragon was closer than we thought? What if it was already among us, waiting for its destiny to unfold?

I sighed. "I'll be feeling so bad to the young dragon if it died, and I'm sure it parents will be in deep grief!" My wolf-fox ears folded back by feeling bad.

Lyriath placed a comforting hand on my shoulder. "We'll do everything we can to help the young dragon, brother," he said. "We'll make sure it's prepared and supported every step of the way."

Father nodded in agreement. "And even if the worst happens, we'll make sure the young dragon's parents are cared for and supported. We'll do everything in our power to help them through their grief."

I nodded, feeling a small sense of comfort. It was reassuring to know that we would do everything we could to help the young dragon and its family, no matter what happened. But the weight of the situation still felt heavy on my heart, and I couldn't shake the feeling that we were all in this together, and that the fate of the young dragon was somehow tied to our own.

I giggled. "Imagine the young dragon is one of our kin or family members!"

Lyriath chuckled. "That would be something, wouldn't it? Imagine having to go through all this with a sibling or cousin."

Father smiled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Well, it's not impossible. And if it were the case, we'd have to be extra careful to support and protect each other."

I grinned, feeling a sense of excitement at the prospect. "It would be a big responsibility, but I think we could handle it. After all, family is everything to us."

Lyriath nodded in agreement. "Definitely. We'd stick together no matter what."

The thought of facing the anomalies with a family member by our side was both thrilling and daunting. But one thing was certain: we would face it together, as a family.

I look at Father, "that young dragon will be the hero of the dragons kind or even the world!"

Father's expression turned solemn, his eyes filled with a deep sense of pride and responsibility. "Yes, that's true. The young dragon's role in defeating the anomalies could be pivotal, not just for our kind, but for the entire world."

He paused, his gaze drifting off into the distance. "The weight of that responsibility is immense, but it's also a reminder of the importance of our role as guardians and protectors. We'll do everything in our power to ensure the young dragon is prepared for the challenge ahead."

I nodded, feeling a sense of awe and reverence for the young dragon's potential destiny. To be a hero on such a grand scale would require immense courage, strength, and determination. But I had no doubt that the young dragon would rise to the challenge, with our support and guidance.

"Father," I asked, "what can we do to help prepare the young dragon for this challenge?"

Father's gaze refocused on me, his eyes filled with a sense of purpose. "We'll need to teach the young dragon everything we know about the anomalies, their power, and their weaknesses. We'll also need to help the young dragon develop its strength, agility, and magical abilities."

Lyriath spoke up, his voice filled with determination. "I'll start training with the young dragon, Father. I'll teach it everything I know about combat and strategy."

Father nodded, a small smile on his face. "That's a good start, Lyriath. I'll work with the young dragon on its magical abilities and help it understand the ancient lore."

I felt a sense of excitement and anticipation. We were all working together to help the young dragon fulfill its destiny, and I knew that with our combined efforts, the young dragon would be ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

But as I looked at Father, I saw a hint of concern in his eyes. "Father, what's wrong?" I asked, sensing that there was something more on his mind.

Father's expression turned serious. "There's one more thing," he said. "The anomalies are not the only threat the young dragon will face. There are those who would seek to use the anomalies for their own gain, and they will stop at nothing to achieve their goals."

I felt a shiver run down my spine as I realized the true extent of the danger the young dragon would face. But I knew that we would stand by its side, no matter what.

"Who are these dragons, Father?" I asked, my curiosity piqued.

Father's expression turned grave. "They are a secretive clan, known as the Shadow Scale. They believe that the anomalies hold the key to unlocking ultimate power, and they'll do whatever it takes to harness that power for themselves."

Lyriath's eyes narrowed. "We can't let them succeed, Father. We have to protect the young dragon from them."

Father nodded. "I agree, Lyriath. We'll need to be vigilant and prepared to defend the young dragon against the Shadow Scale's agents. We'll also need to gather intelligence on their plans and operations, so we can stay one step ahead of them."

I felt a sense of determination rising within me. We would do everything in our power to protect the young dragon and help it fulfill its destiny. The Shadow Scale might think they could use the anomalies for their own gain, but we would stop them, no matter what it took.

"Let's get to work, then," I said, my voice filled with resolve. "We'll prepare the young dragon for the challenges ahead, and we'll defend it against any threat that may arise."

Father nodded, a small smile on his face. "That's the spirit. Together, we'll ensure the young dragon's success, and the world's safety."

I smiled. "I may be a 7 years old hatchlings that is 10-meters tall, but I still hope the young dragon can defeat those anomalies!" I smiled proudly.

Lyriath chuckled. "You've always been optimistic, Tharros. I'm sure the young dragon will appreciate your enthusiasm."

Father nodded in agreement. "And Tharros, your support will be invaluable. You've always had a strong sense of justice and a willingness to help others."

I smiled, feeling a sense of purpose. "I'll do everything I can to help the young dragon, Father. I'm confident that together, we can overcome any challenge."

Lyriath nodded in agreement. "We'll work together as a family, Tharros. We'll support the young dragon and help it defeat the anomalies."

Father's expression turned serious. "Let's focus on preparing the young dragon for the challenges ahead. We have a lot of work to do, and not much time to waste."

Mother giggled. "I should go outside and get fresh air. You 3 can continue to discuss the young dragon!"

Father smiled and nodded. "That's a good idea, dear. We'll make sure to keep you updated on our plans."

Lyriath grinned mischievously. "And maybe you can bring back some fresh meat for dinner, Mother."

Mother playfully rolled her eyes. "I'll see what I can do, Lyriath."

As Mother walked out, the three of us continued our discussion, diving deeper into the details of our plan to support the young dragon. Father's expression turned serious once again, and he began to outline the specific steps we would need to take. Lyriath and I listened intently, our minds racing with thoughts of the challenges ahead.

I look at Father. "So what else do we want to talk about this young dragon!"

Father leaned forward, his eyes serious. "One thing we need to consider is the young dragon's training. We'll need to teach it how to harness its power, how to fight, and how to use its abilities effectively against the anomalies."

Lyriath nodded thoughtfully. "I'll start working on a training plan, Father. I'll make sure to include everything from combat techniques to magical control."

Father nodded, a hint of a smile on his face. "Good thinking, Lyriath. Tharros, I want you to work on gathering intelligence on the anomalies. We need to know as much as we can about what we're up against."

I nodded, determination burning within me. "I'll get started right away, Father. I'll find out everything I can about the anomalies and their weaknesses."

I question, "Does the ancient lore text said the young dragon name?"

Father smiled "thankfully it said it name is VAL..." Father Pause and sighed "unfortunately it just v a and l that is just what it said!"

Lyriath chuckled. "Well, I suppose we'll just have to call it Val for now. I'm sure it'll grow into its name eventually."

I nodded, intrigued. "I wonder what the rest of the name means. Maybe there's a hidden code or message in the ancient lore that we're missing."

Father's expression turned thoughtful. "It's possible. We'll need to study the ancient lore further and see if we can uncover any more clues about Val's name and its significance."

"Let's make a note to review the ancient lore again," Father said, his eyes scanning the room as if searching for a specific text. "There might be something we've overlooked that could give us more insight into Val's name and its destiny."

Lyriath nodded, pulling out a small notebook and jotting down a reminder. "I'll make sure to add it to our list of things to research. Maybe there's a connection between Val's name and its ability to defeat the anomalies."

I leaned forward, excitement building within me. "And maybe we'll discover more about Val's past and its connection to our family and our kind."

Father's expression turned determined. "We'll uncover the truth, Tharros. Together, we'll learn everything we can about Val and its role in shaping the future."

With a sense of purpose, we began to discuss the logistics of our plan. "I'll start reviewing the ancient lore immediately," Lyriath said, his eyes scanning the pages of his notebook. "I'll look for any mentions of Val's name, or any clues that might be hidden within the text."

"I'll start gathering intelligence on the anomalies," I added, my mind racing with possibilities. "I'll talk to the other dragons, see if they've noticed anything unusual."

Father nodded, a look of satisfaction on his face. "Good. With any luck, we'll uncover something that will give us an edge in this fight. Let's meet back here in three days and compare notes. By then, we should have a better understanding of what we're up against."

With our plan in place, we set to work, each of us determined to do our part in helping Val fulfill its destiny.

3 days had passed, and Father walked towards us.

"Ah, Tharros, Lyriath," Father said, his voice filled with a mix of excitement and gravity. "I see you're both ready. Let's get started on our update. What have you found out?"

Lyriath and I exchanged a glance, then began to share our findings. "I've been studying the ancient lore, Father," Lyriath said, "and I think I've found a few clues that might be relevant to Val's destiny."

I nodded, taking over. "And I've been gathering intelligence on the anomalies. I've spoken to several other dragons, and they've reported some unusual activity in the north. It seems the anomalies are growing stronger, and we need to be prepared."

Father listened intently, his expression growing more serious by the minute. "Let's hear everything," he said, his voice firm. "We need to know what we're up against."

Lyriath continued, "The ancient lore mentions a prophecy about a great imbalance in the world, caused by the anomalies. It seems that Val's role is crucial in restoring balance and order."

I added, "The dragons I've spoken to have reported strange energy readings coming from the north. They've also seen dark creatures lurking in the shadows, unlike anything they've seen before."

Father's expression turned grave. "This is more serious than I thought. We need to prepare Val for the challenges ahead and come up with a plan to defeat the anomalies once and for all."

Just then, Vyraxys, Nyxoria, and Lyrixa walked into the room, curious about the serious discussion. "What's going on?" Vyraxys asked, his dark bronze scales glistening in the light.

Father hesitated for a moment before deciding, "It's time you three knew what's going on. We're discussing Val's destiny and the growing threat of the anomalies."

The three younger dragons listened intently as Father briefed them on the situation, their eyes wide with concern and excitement.

I look at Vyraxys and Nyxoria and Lyrixa. "You 3 can play. we will be playing you guys later!" They nodded.

The three younger dragons nodded in unison, their faces lighting up with excitement. "Okay, Tharros! We'll go explore the caves!" Vyraxys exclaimed, already racing towards the tunnel entrance.

Nyxoria and Lyrixa followed close behind, their laughter and chirping echoing off the cave walls. "We'll play hide-and-seek in the shadowy tunnels!" Nyxoria called out, her amethyst scales glinting in the dim light.

Lyriath watched them go, a small smile on his face. "They're going to have a blast," he said, turning back to Father. "Now, where were we? Ah yes, the anomalies..."

Father nodded, his expression serious once again. "Let's focus on the plan. We need to make sure Val is prepared for what's coming."

I look at Father. "Is The young dragon indeed not born yet, right?" Father nodded. "Yes, the ancient lore text said it is not yet born yet, so we still have so much time!"

I breathed a sigh of relief, feeling a sense of reassurance knowing that we still had time to prepare. "That's good to know, Father. We can continue to gather information and make preparations without feeling rushed."

Father nodded in agreement. "Exactly, Tharros. We'll use this time to our advantage and make sure we're ready for when the young dragon is born."

Lyriath leaned forward, his eyes shining with interest. "And what about the prophecy, Father? Does it say anything about the young dragon's parents or its upbringing?"

Father's expression turned thoughtful. "The prophecy is vague about those details, but it does mention that the young dragon will be raised by a group of wise and powerful dragons who will teach it the ways of our kind."

Father sighed and looked down. "It also didn't say it, parents' name or anything!"

I placed a reassuring hand on Father's shoulder. "Don't worry, Father. We'll figure it out as we go along. We'll do everything in our power to support the young dragon and help it fulfill its destiny."

Father looked up, a hint of a smile on his face. "You're right, Tharros. We'll face whatever comes next together, as a family."

Lyriath nodded in agreement. "And we'll make sure the young dragon is prepared for its role, no matter what challenges lie ahead."

With a sense of determination and unity, we stood together, ready to face the challenges that lay ahead. Father's smile grew wider, and he placed a hand on mine, his eyes shining with gratitude.

"Thank you, Tharros. Your words mean a lot to me," he said, his voice filled with emotion.

Lyriath stood up, his navy-blue and dark and blood-red scales glistening in the dim light of the cave. "Let's get to work, then. We have a lot to do before the young dragon's arrival."

I nodded, feeling a sense of excitement and anticipation. Together, we would face the future with courage and determination.

And with that, our planning and preparations would begin, setting the stage for the adventures that would unfold in the chapters to come.
