Chapter 136 - Gathering Knowledge

Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. Lyriath and I worked tirelessly, gathering knowledge and information about the ancient lore and the anomalies. Father oversaw our efforts, offering guidance and wisdom whenever needed.

One day, while studying an ancient text, Lyriath suddenly looked up, his eyes wide with excitement. "Tharros, I think I've found something!" he exclaimed.

I walked over to him, curious. "What is it?"

Lyriath's voice was barely above a whisper. "A hidden passage in the ancient lore. It speaks of a powerful artifact that can aid the young dragon in its quest."

My heart raced with anticipation. "Let's tell Father."

We hurried to Father's chambers, eager to share Lyriath's discovery. Father listened intently as Lyriath explained the hidden passage and the powerful artifact.

Father's eyes sparkled with interest. "This could be exactly what we need to give the young dragon an edge. Let's study the passage further and see if we can uncover more information about the artifact."

With renewed determination, we poured over the ancient text, deciphering the cryptic language and uncovering the secrets of the powerful artifact. The journey ahead would be challenging, but with this newfound knowledge, we felt a sense of hope and determination.

Father studied the ancient text and said, "It didn't say the young dragon full name, but I believe there could be something in here!"

Father's eyes scanned the pages, his brow furrowed in concentration. "Ah, yes! Here it is. The text mentions a symbol, a marking that will reveal the young dragon's true name."

Lyriath leaned in, intrigued. "A symbol? What kind of symbol?"

Father's finger traced the ancient script. "It seems to be a celestial map, pointing to a specific constellation. If we can decipher the map, we might uncover the young dragon's full name."

Father's eyes lit up with understanding. "Ah, with the letters V and A and L, and considering the ancient lore, I think I can make an educated guess. Perhaps the young dragon's name is... Valakor? Or maybe Valanthor? Or even Valyrian?"

Lyriath and I exchanged a look, our minds racing with possibilities. "Those are all possibilities, Father," I said. "But we'll need to continue studying the ancient lore to see if we can find any confirmation."

Father nodded, his eyes still shining with excitement. "Yes, let's continue to study and research. We can't afford to leave any stone unturned. The young dragon's destiny is at stake, and we need to be prepared."

Lyriath spoke up, his voice filled with determination. "I'll pour over the ancient texts again, see if I can find any mention of those names or the symbol."

I nodded in agreement. "I'll start searching the archives, see if there are any other clues or hints that might help us."

With renewed purpose, we set to work, determined to uncover the truth about the young dragon's name and destiny. The journey ahead would be long and challenging, but we were ready to face it together.

As we worked, the cave grew quiet, the only sound the rustling of pages and the soft scratching of quills on parchment. Hours passed, and the sun began to set outside, casting a warm orange glow over the cave.

Suddenly, Lyriath looked up from his reading, a look of excitement on his face. "Tharros, Father, I think I've found something!"

We turned to him, eager to hear what he had discovered. "What is it, Lyriath?" Father asked, his voice filled with anticipation.

Lyriath's eyes sparkled as he held up the ancient text. "I think I've found a relevant passage. It might give us some insight into the young dragon's destiny."

Father's eyes lit up with interest, and I leaned forward, curious. "What does it say?" Father asked.

Lyriath's voice was filled with excitement. "It mentions a great challenge that the young dragon will face, and how it will require great courage and strength to overcome it."

I nodded, my mind racing with the implications. "This could be important. Let's study it further and see if we can learn more about what's to come."

As we study further, it says, "it is the strongest among his siblings." I read, and look at Father.

Father's expression turned thoughtful, and he nodded slowly. "This passage suggests that the young dragon will have a significant role among its siblings. The fact that it's described as the strongest implies that it will have a leadership role or a crucial part to play in the challenges ahead."

I nodded in agreement, my mind turning over the possibilities. "This could be a key part of understanding the young dragon's destiny. Let's see if we can find out more about its siblings and their roles."

We look even further, and we find nothing.

Father's expression turned contemplative, and he leaned back in his chair. "It seems we've reached a dead end for now. We'll have to keep studying and waiting for more information to come to light."

I nodded in agreement. "We'll continue to research and gather knowledge. Perhaps something will become clearer with time."

The silence that followed was filled with a sense of anticipation and determination. We would continue to work together, seeking answers and preparing for the future.

Father sighed. "I'll give all the information we found to the elders and let the other search about the young dragon more." We all nodded.

With a sense of closure, Father gathered the documents and ancient texts, preparing to share our findings with the elders. "Let's hope that together, we can uncover more about the young dragon's destiny and prepare for what's to come."

Lyriath and I nodded in agreement, feeling a sense of unity and purpose. We would continue to work together, supporting each other as we navigated the challenges ahead.

I just remembered something "wait I do have 1 ancient text, and it said that when it was born, it was a bit smaller than it, Father!"

Father's eyes lit up with interest. "That's a valuable piece of information, Tharros. The size comparison could be a crucial detail. Do you remember what ancient text it was and where you found it?"

I thought back, trying to recall the specifics. "I think it was one of the older texts in the archive chamber. I'll have to dig through my notes to find the exact reference."

Father nodded. "Let's take a look. This could be the piece of the puzzle we've been missing."

I stood up, determination in my voice. "I'll go get the notes right away, Father. This could be the breakthrough we need."

Father nodded, his eyes still shining with excitement. "I'll prepare the meeting with the elders and make sure they're aware of this new information."

With a sense of purpose, I headed to retrieve my notes, feeling a sense of hope that we might finally uncover more about the young dragon's destiny.

I smiled "alright see you later, and have a nice trip on meeting the elder and say hi to your best friend Kealith, who is part of one of the elders!" I said, and Father nodded.

Father chuckled and smiled back at me. "I'll be sure to give Kealith a warm hello. He's always been a valuable source of wisdom and insight. I'll see you later, Tharros. Be careful digging through those notes, and let's hope we find what we're looking for."

With a nod, I watched as Father set off to meet with the elders, feeling a sense of anticipation and hope for what the future might hold.

As me and Lyriath arrived back home to the mountain cave, I sighed and looked at Lyriath. "That was a fun investigating with Father!" I said, and Lyriath nodded.

Lyriath smiled and clapped me on the back. "Definitely, Tharros. I'm glad we were able to uncover some new information about the young dragon. It's always exciting to be a part of the discovery process." I nodded in agreement, feeling a sense of brotherly camaraderie. "Yeah, and I'm looking forward to digging through my notes and seeing if I can find that ancient text. Maybe we'll finally get some answers."

Lyriath chuckled. "You're always so into this stuff, big brother. I'm just glad I get to help you out sometimes." I grinned, ruffling his hair. "You're a big help, Lyriath. Now, let's get started on those notes and see what we can find."

As we walked towards our quarters to start digging through my notes, Lyriath asked, "Hey, Tharros, do you think Vyraxys and Nyxoria are still playing in the eastern caverns?"

I smiled, knowing how much my siblings loved exploring the caverns. "Probably. Let's go check on them after we find that ancient text. I'm sure they'd love to hear about what we discovered with Father."

Lyriath's face lit up with excitement. "Yeah, and maybe Lyrixa and Kaidorix are playing with them too!"

With renewed enthusiasm, we entered our quarters and began searching through my notes and scrolls, eager to uncover more secrets about the young dragon's destiny.

We went downstairs of the inside the mountains cave, and I look at Lyriath "remember there are chamber here that we are not allowed to go in yet!"

Lyriath nodded solemnly, his eyes gleaming with a mix of curiosity and caution. "I know, Tharros. Father said those chambers are restricted for a reason, and we need to respect that."

I smiled, proud of Lyriath for understanding the importance of boundaries. "That's right, Lyriath. Let's focus on finding the notes and ancient text we need, and avoid any areas we're not supposed to be in."

I look at Lyriath. "Do you think that Nyxoria and Vyraxys are with Kaidorix with corvix his pet immortal lion! Or at least we think it is an immortal lion. We still don't know what animals he is!"

Lyriath nodded "Yes cervix has wings and a small horn and have most of his fur white with a bit of blue."

I chuckled, thinking about Kaidorix's unique pet. "Yeah, Corvix is definitely one of a kind. I'm not sure what kind of creature he is, but he's fiercely loyal to Kaidorix. I'm sure Nyxoria and Vyraxys are having a blast playing with them."

Lyriath grinned mischievously. "Let's go find them after we finish with the notes. I'm sure they'll have some stories to share about their adventures with Corvix."

I smiled. "I think they are in the corvix chamber that you guys and Mother made a few years ago!"

Lyriath's eyes lit up. "The Corvix Chamber? That's their favorite place to play! I'm sure Kaidorix is spoiling Corvix rotten, and Nyxoria and Vyraxys are loving every minute of it."

I laughed, imagining the scene. "Let's finish up here and go join the chaos. I'm sure Mother will be happy to see us all together, playing and having fun."

With renewed energy, Lyriath and I quickly got back to work, searching through the notes and scrolls for the information we needed. After what felt like an eternity, I finally found the ancient text I was looking for.

"Yes! I found it, Lyriath!" I exclaimed, holding up the dusty scroll.

Lyriath grinned, relieved. "Now let's go find the others and share the news. I'm sure they'll be excited to hear about what we discovered."

I nodded, and we both ran to corvix Chamber.

As we burst into the Corvix Chamber, the sound of laughter and playful roars filled the air. Nyxoria, Vyraxys, and Kaidorix were indeed playing with Corvix, who was frolicking around the room with wings spread wide.

"Mother's going to have to clean up the mess later," I chuckled, watching as Corvix chased after Kaidorix, sending rocks and debris scattering.

Lyriath laughed, "Worth it, though! Look at them having so much fun!"

I grinned, feeling happy to see my siblings enjoying themselves. "Let's join in and add to the chaos!"

Lyriath and I charged into the fray, laughing and playing with our siblings. Corvix, sensing new playmates, bounded over to us, its wings fluttering wildly as it nudged us gently with its snout. The chamber erupted into a joyful cacophony of dragon roars, laughter, and Corvix's happy growls.

As we played, I noticed Mother watching from the entrance, a warm smile on her face. She shook her head good-naturedly, "I'll clean up the mess later, but for now, enjoy yourselves."

Corvix smiled "Yes Mrs. Thyriatrix, it was fun!"

Mother smiled warmly at Corvix. "You're certainly having a great time with the kids, Corvix. I'm glad to see you're all getting along so well."

Corvix wagged its tail, happy to be included in the family's activities. "Thanks, Thyriatrix. I love spending time with them. They're my favorite family."

Kaidorix grinned, hugging Corvix. "We're your family too, buddy. We're glad to have you as part of our pack."

As the commotion died down, Mother said, "Now that everyone's had their fun, Tharros, what did you and Lyriath find out about the young dragon?"

I nodded, holding up the ancient text. "We found some information that might be helpful. It seems the young dragon's size comparison to another dragon might be a key detail."

Mother's interest was piqued. "Let's take a look. Maybe we can decipher more about the prophecy together."

With that, we all gathered around, eager to uncover more secrets about the young dragon's destiny.

Kaidorix, look at me and Lyriath "Well I did find a text about the young dragon under the ground that I dig, but it broke a few hours ago!" Kaidorix said.

I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "You found a text about the young dragon underground? What did it say before it broke?"

Kaidorix's face scrunched up in concentration. "I think it said something about... 'albino scales' and 'ancient power'. But it broke before I could read more."

Lyriath's eyes lit up. "Albino scales? That sounds significant. Maybe it's connected to Father's albino scales or the prophecy."

I nodded, determination rising. "Let's see if we can find more pieces of that text, Kaidorix. Your digging skills might come in handy."

Kaidorix chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck. "But it broke as in it got ripped apart from an accident!" He smiled.

I chuckled, understanding. "Ah, accident, huh? Well, accidents happen. Let's see if we can piece together what it said before it got ripped apart. Maybe Corvix can help us sniff out any other clues."

Kaidorix grinned. "Yeah, Corvix is great at finding things. Corvix, buddy, can you help us out?"

Corvix nodded, its ears perking up. "Of course, I'm on the case!"

Kaidorix looked away and said, "But most of the pieces got wet and disappeared"

I raised an eyebrow, concern creeping in. "Got wet and disappeared? What happened, Kaidorix? Did you dig near a stream or something?"

Kaidorix's expression turned sheepish. "Uh, maybe. I might have dug a bit too close to the underground spring."

Kaidorix smiled "sorry but this is what all I got from it." he pulled out a 1 small piece of the text.

I looked at the small piece of text in Kaidorix's hand, hope rising. "Well, it's better than nothing. Let's take a look at what we have left."

I carefully took the piece from Kaidorix and examined it. There were a few words left intact, and I focused on deciphering the remaining text. "Let's see... it says '...power of the... ancient ones...'."

Lyriath leaned in, interested. "Ancient ones? What does that refer to?"

I sighed and took a deep breath. "It just stops there! It just stops there!" I try to calm down to not get so angry about it.

Kaidorix looked apologetic, "Sorry, Tharros. I feel terrible about losing most of the text. But maybe we can still make something out of this piece."

I took another deep breath, trying to shake off frustration. "You're right. Let's focus on what we have. Maybe there's a hidden meaning or code in these words."

Lyriath nodded, "I'll try to study it further. Sometimes, the smallest piece of information can lead to a breakthrough."

Mother looks serious. "I believe your father is at the elder place, right?" I nodded.

Mother sighed "alright I will go there and give the information about it albino scales and the ancient power and the text that got destroyed!" Mother, look at Kaidorix before leaving.

Mother's gaze fell on Kaidorix, and she said, "And, Kaidorix, maybe next time, be more careful when digging up ancient texts."

Kaidorix nodded, looking slightly chastised but understanding. "I'll try, Mother. Sorry again about the text."

With that, Mother turned and left, heading towards the elder's place to share the information with Father.

As Mother departed, the room fell silent for a moment. Then Lyriath spoke up, "Well, let's get to work on deciphering the remaining piece of text. Maybe we can find a connection to the prophecy."

I nodded, determination renewed. "You're right. Let's study it carefully and see if we can uncover any clues."

Kaidorix, still looking a bit down, perked up. "I'll help too. Maybe Corvix can help us brainstorm."

Corvix, sensing an opportunity, chimed in, "I'm always up for a challenge! Let's get to work, team!"

I sighed "alright but this time, be super careful of the ancient text next time because there is no way they'll make another one!"

Kaidorix nodded vigorously, "Don't worry, Tharros, I'll be super careful next time. I promise to handle any ancient texts with utmost care. No more accidents, I swear!"

Lyriath chuckled, "Good, because we don't want to have to deal with Mother's disappointment again."

Corvix chimed in, "I'll help keep an eye on him, Tharros. We'll get it right next time."

I look at Kaidorix, "and my anger too!" I said in a cold tone.

Kaidorix's expression turned serious, and he nodded solemnly. "I'll be careful, Tharros. I don't want to face your anger again. I'll make sure to handle any future discoveries with the utmost care."

Kaidorix looks down. "It did say the young dragon full name, but I forgot!"

My expression turned stern, and I felt a surge of frustration. "You forgot?! Kaidorix, that's crucial information! Think hard, what was the name?"

Kaidorix's face scrunched up in concentration, "I'm trying to remember... but it's just out of reach."

Kaidorix smiled. "It Val, but I'm sure that is just a small part of the name."

I slammed my face to the stone wall and said, "we know that! That is not new information!" I yelled.

Kaidorix took a step back, looking taken aback by my outburst. "Whoa, sorry Tharros. I didn't mean to frustrate you. I'll try to remember more, I promise."

Lyriath intervened, placing a calming hand on my shoulder. "Tharros, let's not get too worked up. We'll figure it out together."

Corvix added, "Yeah, we'll dig deeper, literally and figuratively. Maybe we can uncover more clues."

I take a deep breath to try to calm myself and sigh, "Find we'll try again later!"

Kaidorix nodded in relief, "Okay, Tharros. Let's take a break and regroup when we're all feeling calmer. Maybe Corvix can sniff out some new leads."

Lyriath smiled, "And I'll review what we have so far. We'll piece it together, Tharros."

I nodded, still looking a bit frazzled, but willing to move forward. "Alright, let's take a break."

A few hours later, we go upstairs inside the mountain cave and wait for Mother and Father from their give information to the elder.

The wait was filled with anticipation and quiet conversation. Lyriath sat cross-legged on the floor, eyes closed, meditating. Corvix paced back and forth, his tail twitching with excitement. Kaidorix leaned against the wall, looking thoughtful.

I stood by the entrance, gazing out at the fading light, wondering what the elder's response would be. Would they know something about the ancient power and the albino scales?

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm orange glow over the landscape, I heard the sound of footsteps echoing from outside the cave. Mother and Father were returning.

As Mother and Father entered the cave, their expressions were somber, and their eyes seemed to hold a mix of concern and determination. "The elder has some knowledge about the ancient power," Father began, "but it's fragmented and shrouded in mystery."

Mother took over, her voice measured, "The elder believes the albino scales might be connected to an ancient prophecy, one that speaks of a great imbalance in the world's energies."

Kaidorix's eyes widened, "An imbalance? What kind of imbalance?"

Father's gaze turned serious, "One that could threaten the very fabric of our world. The elder thinks the prophecy might be linked to you, Tharros."

Father sighed. "Lyra is also on the investigation, and she has shadowfire elements, or at least it kinda part of the elements!"

I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Lyra? What's her connection to this? And shadowfire elements? That's a rare and powerful affinity."

Father nodded. "Yes, the elder believes her abilities might be crucial in understanding and potentially harnessing the ancient power. We need to be careful, though. The forces we're dealing with are unpredictable and potentially volatile."

Lyriath opened her eyes, interest piqued. "Shadowfire elements could be the key to balancing the energies. I'd like to meet Lyra and discuss this further."

Mother smiled. "And she is the only one who has Shadowfire, and you little do know what is a darkness, right?" We all nodded.

I answered, "The darkness is an entity that controls the creature mind and body to become it mindless slave!"

Mother frowned "Yes and the darkness appears when some one have dark elements or something similar to dark elements or artifacts called oracle, and the none dark elements user can fall from the darkness control!"

I nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. "So, Lyra having Shadowfire elements makes her a potential target for the darkness. And if she's connected to the prophecy, we need to be cautious."

Father's expression turned serious. "We'll need to warn her about the risks and teach her how to protect herself. The elder has some knowledge about countering the darkness, but we need to be prepared for anything."

Kaidorix spoke up, "I'll help gather information about Lyra and her connection to the prophecy. Maybe there's more to her story than we know."

Corvix growled softly, "I'll keep an eye on things around here. We don't know what kind of attention we're drawing with this investigation."

Father sighed. "I feel like her Shadowfire has connections to the prophecy, but I'm sure she'll die before the young dragon is born!"

I felt a shiver run down my spine as Father's words hung in the air. "What do you mean she'll die before the young dragon is born?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

Father's eyes seemed to cloud over, his gaze distant. "The prophecy speaks of great sacrifices, Tharros. I'm not sure what's required of Lyra, but I fear it won't be easy for her."

Mother's expression was somber, her voice gentle. "We'll do everything we can to support her, but we need to be prepared for the possibility that she might not survive what's coming."

The weight of their words settled heavily on me, and I felt a surge of concern for Lyra. I didn't know her well, but the thought of her facing such danger was unsettling. "What can we do to help her?" I asked, looking at my parents.

Father's gaze refocused on me, his eyes filled with determination. "We'll work with the elder to uncover more about the prophecy and the ancient power. Maybe there's a way to mitigate the risks or find an alternative path."

Kaidorix spoke up, "And I'll help gather more information about Lyra's past and her connection to the Shadowfire elements. Maybe there's a clue we can use to help her."

Corvix nodded in agreement, his eyes gleaming with a fierce intensity. "We'll protect her, Tharros. We'll do everything we can to keep her safe."

Lyriath's voice was soft, but resolute. "Together, we can face whatever challenges come our way. We'll support Lyra and work towards a better future."

With a sense of unity and determination, we nodded in agreement. Father placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "We'll do everything we can to ensure Lyra's safety and uncover the truth about the prophecy."

As the night deepened, we sat in contemplative silence, each lost in our own thoughts about the challenges ahead. Finally, Mother stood up, her expression gentle. "It's late. Let's get some rest. Tomorrow will bring new challenges, and we'll need to be ready."

We nodded, and one by one, we retired to our quarters, the weight of our responsibilities and the uncertainty of the future hanging over us like a shadow.
