Leviathans stood on solid ground but, the aura he exuded made the area feel like a vast ocean dragging you to the depths. Everyone was too terrified to act, fearing one wrong one might spell their end. Even Tomoe and Lorcan's soul binders stayed quiet. Gabriel was the only one to dare speak.
Gabriel: 'Elias, whatever you do… DO NOT FIGHT HIM.'
Elias couldn't even speak in response. Leviathan turned to him and began walking forward. He stared Elias in the face and started speaking.
Leviathan: "Well, I am impressed. You and your rag-tag crew managed to not only defeat but kill my Officers. Don't worry, I'm not angry, in fact, I'm pleased. It was a spectacle to watch from Hell!"
Leviathan back up and looked around at the mess they had caused in their battles. He sighed after taking it in.
Leviathan: "So, who wants to give me a good time?"
His eyes darted back between the lot of them before locking eyes with Elias again.
Leviathan: "How about you fire boy? You're The strongest here clearly, and the others are far too battered."
He waited for a response that Elias wouldn't give. Annoyed at the silence, Leviathan began releasing more pressure. The ground started to crack and the mountain range behind him started to rumble.
Leviathan: "Answer me boy. I don't like waiting."
Elias struggled to speak at first before letting out a muttered response.
Elias: "W-Why…?"
Leviathan: "Because, in honesty, I'm envious that my subordinates went behind my back to test the mettle of you humans. I haven't had a proper fight since I met Lucifer himself! I wish to have a pleasing test, and who knows if you give me that I let your lot of friends live as a reward."
Elias was mortified to hear what Leviathan had to say. He could only think that it was either he dies, or they all die. Leviathan waited, tapping his foot. Every second of waiting his smile lessened.
Gabriel: 'Elias… I'm sorry about this. If I hadn't have recruited you as my vessel...'
Elias: 'Shut up. Gabriel... I'd be dead by now without you. Then, and even now I'm only alive because of you.'
Gabriel: 'That's not true… Us soul binder may have given you my magic but, your progression is yours alone. Even when I further intertwined with your soul, that was you… If you weren't willing to get closer in soul, I wouldn't have been able to do that. And even now, because of the strength of your soul… you haven't died.'
Leviathan: "Well what will it be Flamey? You or them?"
Elias: 'Gabriel, can we fuse further?'
Gabriel: 'I don't know if that's good Elias you might- '
Elias: 'I don't care, it has to happen, or they die!'
Gabriel: 'Very Well'
Leviathan had grown impatient and started to walk towards Aria and Kairos.
Leviathan: "Since you seem to have forgotten, Ill motivate you!'
He raised his hand and an almost Ethereal Glow came from his palm. It swirled like a dark and uninviting vortex. Suddenly, Elias jolted forward and grabbed Leviathans wrist.
Elias: "WAIT!... I'll do it!"
Leviathan pulled his arm away and turned to Elias smiling.
Leviathan: "Very well… We'll start NOW!"
He bolted, grabbing Elias by the face and dragging him through the mountainside. Every rock, tree, and animal were destroyed in the path. The others didn't even notice the disappearance until hearing the destruction. They looked up as they saw Elias being dragged through the earth. They Crashed into the mountain and came back outside the mountain.
Leviathan: "Well boy, are you done already? Remember I said I'd only spare them if you gave me a good fight!"
Elias, with a bloodied hand, faintly grabbed the arm that had hold of him. Leviathan was a little surprised as his arm ignited. Elias' entire body was now coated, taking the appearance of that semi dragon like appearance from when he fought Ifrit.
Leviathan: "Oh? You still have enough in the tank for that little transformation again?"
Suddenly a huge flaming fist appeared behind Elias and struck Leviathan, sending him flying through the air.
Elias: "I might die but I'll make sure you feel me before I do!"
Leviathan just smirked as he flew forward, He punched him with enough force that Elias flew back into the mountain. The force of the collision shattered it. Below the others tried running as fast as they could to steer clear of the wreckage. Lyra looked up to see Elias struggling to fly back and meet Leviathan.
Leviathan: "Wow kid! You can surely take a hit! That magic of yours must've protected you from most of the force. Looking at you though, you must have several broken bones."
Elias had blood flowing from multiple parts of his body. Some flowing over his eyes but he staired forward looking Leviathan in the eyes. He propelled himself forward increasing his speed with more flame propulsion. A clawed fist met Leviathans hand. HE caught it and Elias's hand couldn't budge. Leviathan then elbowed Elias, knocking the wind out of him. He spit up blood and started to slowly fall from the sky.
Leviathan: "Nuh uh wake up!"
Leviathan grabbed him and kneed him with enough force to bring him back to complete consciousness. He then threw him down to the ground.
Leviathan: "I think it's time you witness my magic in action. Oh, and yours won't like this very much."
A huge vortex formed from behind Leviathan and shot out meeting Elias on the ground. An unrelenting force of water hit Elias and extinguished his flames. Every second the ground behind him broke and collapsed. Above them a storm cloud formed from the excess water in the air due to Leviathans magic. It began thundering and raining. Suddenly lightning struck at Leviathan but he dodges its strike, and it barreled into the ground. The strike caused Leviathans' focus to wane and the vortex dissipated. Elias gasped for air after the assault of water. The excess droplets on him sizzled away as he reactivated his fire.
Elias: 'He uses water magic, why didn't you tell me?'
Gabriel: 'I only knew of him, not what magic he used. Elias, listen to me, when he sends another vortex you're going to have to overheat your body. You're going to have to be at least twice as hot as your body reached against Ifrit. It's going to be dangerous but It's the only way with an opponent of Leviathans caliber.'
Leviathan focused back on Elias and prepared the next vortex. Elias started building his heat, first internally then his body caught flame. The ground began melting around him. Any plants or animals that might've been nearby turned into ash. Then physical burns began appearing over him. Elias started screaming in pain. Then the vortex hit. Leviathans smile turned into confusion. The water was evaporating instantly. Elias pushed through it, striking Leviathans in the face making him stumble back a bit. Elias kept up the assault. Throwing hook after hook and kick after kick until his fist was caught. Then a huge fist of water punched him back towards the ground.
Leviathan: "I must admit, I didn't see that happening. Your fire is extraordinary. Where did you say it came from? A soul binder, right? You call him Gabriel. I must commend him along with you then. This has been a fun experience, but I have to call it quits here, I have an important meeting to attend soon. Thank you."
Elias, through the pain and tiredness of it all, managed a sentence.
Elias: "All of you… are evil... every one of you demons are vile. WHY ARE YOU EVEN DOING THIS!"
Leviathan chuckled from the remark before speaking.
Leviathan: "Well, you aren't going to be alive much longer so why the Hell not! Where we live… Hell... it's not a good place, and well over the thousands of years we've lived there, were itching to get out. Earth is perfect, the landscapes the beautiful scenery, all of it… except you. So, Lucifer tasked the Lords of hell, me included, to send armies with the intent of eradicating you humans. After that we'll claim the Cardinals then take over the Hearth. Of course, I doubt that's Luci's true intention but for me at least that's why I'm doing it. This place is just better."
Elias: "Mark my words Leviathan… I may not be able to kill you today... or tomorrow... But, one day ill come back and I WILL KILL YOU AND EVERY DAMNED DEMON IN HELL!"
Leviathan looked over that final remark with a serious face and the air became raw with magic. He took a stance and suddenly a huge serpent made of water engulfed him. It started barreling towards Elias. In return Elias propelled forward with a huge fiery fist. As Elias flew in the air a huge fire engulfed the fist and his body taking the shape of the head of a dragon. Elias yelled out trying to call all his power while Leviathan remained collected. The collision created a force of pressure that spewed out in all directions. It even reached the others who were struggling against it. Eventually Leviathans serpent powered through sending them both crashing into the ground turning the entire area into a crater equivalent to 5 or 6 football fields. Lyra, Aria and the others looked horror to see Leviathan stand over Elias' body. Blood covered the immediate surroundings and Elias. There was no movement from him as he laid there lifeless. Leviathan turned to them, seeing Aria and Lyra in tears and Kairos with a despaired look staring at the floor.
Leviathan: "I'm a man of my word, He gave an entertaining skirmish, so you all will be spared… until the next time we come to complete our mission. Be grateful that he is the only dead human under my foot tonight."
The rain lightened slightly as a huge portal appeared behind Leviathan. Lyra tightened her grip on her blade.
Lyra: "YOU MONSTER! HE ISNT DEAD THERE ISNT ANY WAY HE COULD BE! YOULL GET WHATS COMING TO YOU!"
Leviathan didn't react to the words he perceived as empty. He turned without a word walking through the portal as it vanished. Lyra rushed over to Elias trying to get him to wake up. She started banging on his chest in frustration as tears fell onto his body. She suddenly felt a hand on her body. It was Lorcan who finally woke, using his bow as a crutch. She gave him a look as if saying "Help" and he just shook his head. She slouched onto him crying and Aria and Kairos walked to them. They sat until sunrise before they said their goodbyes.
