Liam was deep in sleep when the insistent ringing of his phone jolted him awake. He didn't want to get up and pick it up, but there wasn't really anyone who would actually call him. So Liam knew the call must be from someone close to him. And whether he was important or not, he would know after answering the phone.
Groggily, he reached out, his hand fumbling under the pillow until he found the device. He briefly opened his eyes and saw the name on the caller ID: William.
With a sigh, he picked up the phone, his voice still heavy with sleep. "Hello?"
William's voice on the other end was urgent and grave. "Liam, Thalion is dead."
Liam's eyes flew open, shock coursing through him. "What? Thalion is dead? Are you sure?"
"Turn on the news," William replied, his voice filled with sorrow. "It's everywhere."
