Alone together, Anna stared at Nathaniel who's slate blue eyes scrutinized her.
"How has it been with you Anna?"
He chuckled shortly after and continued.
"I mean, yeah after a long time now you must be working in a flashy company, be with a rich boyfriend and living a luxurious life, haha."
Anna's eyes flickered.
She remembered Carlos, she remembered working as his secretary and his big mansion. Then she laughed sadly and sniffled.
"No I am not. I'm still living the life that you already know of."
Nathaniel's interest seems to suddenly spike. "So you're still single?"
Anna hesitated for a moment, but she nodded.
After all that Ezekiel had told him, she doesn't want to be in a relationship with Carlos. As long as her family is involved, she would rather deprive herself of her longing than risk her family's life.
