Huff...Letting out a breath, I pulled my arm from the chest of the Parademon, cursed energy crackling faintly as its body slumped to the ground.

My gaze wandered across the carnage—bodies of those winged freaks littered the floor, lifeless.

I groaned, looking down at the thick green blood coating my arms."Ugh… this is gonna be a pain to wash off," I muttered.

I glanced toward Batman, just as he finished off the last two remaining demons. My eyes narrowed, studying him—every move, every hit.

The way he fought… like a demon

Precise. Calculated. Ruthless.

And this man didn't even have powers. Just a regular human a regular human that trained with the Tabien monks That was... impressive.

Wait... he's busy.

A grin tugged at the corner of my mouth beneath the mask.

Perfect.

Time to steal the money and dip.

I could do my gacha pulls, maybe help fight Darkseid later. I mean, if he wins, it's not exactly a great time for me either.

But right now?

That bag was calling my name.

As I looked toward the table where that beautiful stack of cash had once sat, the joy—the happiness—vanished from my soul in an instant.

It was replaced by pure, crushing sadness.

I dropped to all fours as screamed silently in my mind:

"Noooooooo! My money! My hard-earned money!"

What once was a glorious pile of riches was now shattered—scattered into burnt, torn, and utterly useless scraps.

This wasn't just a loss.

This was a crime.

A crime against the god of money himself an a personal insult to me.

How dare they destroy what wasn't theirs?!

I was still spiraling in grief when Batman finished dealing with the last of the demons.

He turned toward me, voice steady but urgent.

"We don't have time for this. More of these creatures are coming. They're appearing all over the world..." He paused, eyes narrowing beneath the cowl."But there is something in Metropolis."

"The place where Superman is? "I asked, not even hiding the edge in my voice.

Batman just nodded silently, already moving.

Without another word, he began tying up Mr. Freeze and Captain Cold with expert precision, not wasting a single movement. Then, without so much as a glance back, he fired his grappling hook toward the ceiling.

Fwhip—

In one smooth motion, he was gone disappearing into the night like the dramatic shadow-dad he is.

Leaving me standing there.

Alone.

With a bunch of demon corpses, broken dreams, and a pile of ruined cash.

Damn... this hero life is exhausting.

clap

He now stood on the rooftop of the abandoned building, his eyes trailing after Batman, who stared up into the night sky.

Before Alex could even open his mouth—

SHWWW—

A sleek black jet descended in front of them, its engines humming with quiet power. The cockpit opened with a mechanical hiss.

Batman stepped in without a word, but just before the hatch closed, he glanced toward Alex—and gave a sharp, deliberate motion.

A silent invitation.

Alex didn't hesitate."Tch. For the money…" he muttered, clenching his fist.

He hopped in.

If Darkseid wanted a war…Then he'd get one.

Nobody ruins Alex's money and walks away.

"

"So, do you have any information on these creatures?" Alex asked, leaning back in his seat with casual confidence. "Because—even if my name is Mr. Mysterious—I don't have any."

He smirked beneath his mask, voice dripping with self-assurance.

But deep down?

He knew he was lying.

He did know what those creatures were. He remembered them clearly—from the DC animated movies he'd watched back before he died. Parademons. Minions of Darkseid. Beings bred for war.

He even knew who controlled them.

But admitting that? Yeah, no—that would raise a whole mountain of questions he really didn't want Batman asking.

Especially not that guy.

"I don't have any info on them either…" Batman said coolly.

"…but I have this."

He reached into his armor and pulled out a small box—gold and green, humming faintly with alien energy.

Alex's eyes widened behind his mask, recognition hitting him like a lightning bolt.

No way… a Boom Tube generator.

Everything suddenly clicked into place in his mind. The Parademons. The invasion. The strange, cosmic tech.

So this really was the start of the "Justice League: War" storyline…

That also meant one thing:

He was fuck

Because if this was the movie timeline he remembered…

Then everyone dies.

The Justice League? Wiped out.Earth? Absolutely cooked.

"...Fuck," Alex muttered silently in his mind, staring at the Boom Tube device like it was a death sentence wrapped in shiny metal.

Why couldn't I have ended up in a slice-of-life anime world instead…?
