The school day dragged on endlessly. Kara's thoughts were consumed by Danny—his eyes, his smile, his hands. Damn. She was horny.
Mr. Blue droned on about x and y, but all Kara wanted was to get out of the classroom. Frustration gnawed at her, coiling tightly in her stomach as she stared at the clock, silently willing it to move faster.
Her bullies seemed to avoid her now. Jean, the "spaghetti guy," limped around on a nearly healed broken foot, scurrying away on crutches whenever he saw her. Tommy had switched seats and no longer looked her way, his neck still secured in a cast.
It made her curious. Could this have something to do with Rox? She almost laughed at the thought. Rox would rather die than care about her or her bullies.
"Something funny, Miss Meadows?" Mr. Blue's voice snapped her from her thoughts.
Kara shook her head. "No, sir. Your topic is really interesting."
He smiled, satisfied. "Well, thank you, Kara."
