Chapter 145 - Slaying the Darkgold Three-Headed Bat King

The Road to Hell!

On the narrow path, two figures moved swiftly. Chen Yuan led the way, with Hu Liena following closely behind. A rope, made from Hu Liena's clothes, tied them together.

After Chen Yuan's reminder, Hu Liena had quickly retrieved spare clothes from her storage spirit tool and put them on.

Though she was now dressed, the mental "clothes" she had shed were never put back on.

Hu Liena had undressed in front of Chen Yuan, and now, whenever he glanced her way, she felt as though she stood before him completely exposed. The deep-seated shame made it impossible for her to meet his gaze, leaving her staring at her own chest, unable to see her feet due to her ample bosom.

Even now, as she followed Chen Yuan, Hu Liena often found herself lost in thought, her mind wandering to places it shouldn't.

Hu Liena was a romantic at heart, and for someone like Chen Yuan, who had seen her body and dominated her will, it was easy for her to develop complicated feelings.

However, Chen Yuan had no interest in romance, especially not on the Road to Hell. He kept his Mirror Eyes active, scanning their surroundings in a 360-degree field of vision.

Suddenly, within the scope of his Mirror Eyes, Chen Yuan spotted a massive swarm of bats flying toward them.

Without turning his head, Chen Yuan warned:

"There's a large swarm of bats ahead. If you keep spacing out, no one can save you."

Hearing Chen Yuan's words, Hu Liena snapped out of her reverie, her expression turning serious.

In the blink of an eye, the dark swarm of bats, like a storm cloud, descended upon them.

Each bat screeched, the cacophony enough to make anyone's scalp tingle. More importantly, their blood and spirit power seemed to grow slightly unstable.

Hu Liena let out a sharp cry, and a fluffy tail, three to four meters long, sprouted from her back. The pink fur, once soft, now stood stiff like steel needles. With a sweep of her tail, she cleared a large section of the bat swarm.

Against such dense hordes of weak enemies, Hu Liena's external spirit bone was her only effective tool. Neither her mental shock ability nor her dagger spirit tool was suited for this situation.

She then glanced at Chen Yuan, assuming he would need her help against such overwhelming numbers.

Instead, she saw Chen Yuan raise his left and right hands. Lightning crackled in his left hand, while a whirlwind formed in his right. He brought his hands together and pushed forward, releasing a lightning-infused tornado. Wherever it passed, the dense swarm of bats was either torn to shreds by the wind or charred to ash by the lightning, clearing a path a hundred meters ahead.

Hu Liena was stunned. She had thought her external spirit bone was powerful, but Chen Yuan had casually created a spirit skill combining wind and lightning. Its power was no less than a Spirit King's fifth spirit skill.

'Am I really this useless? What I thought was my pride is something he can casually create...'

At that moment, Hu Liena felt even more inadequate, while Chen Yuan seemed even more extraordinary in her eyes.

Chen Yuan, however, paid no attention to her thoughts. His focus was locked on a dark spot in the distance. His massacre of the bats had provoked their leader.

"Roar!"

With a deafening roar, a massive bat with dark golden skin and three heads flapped its wings and flew toward them.

The Darkgold Three-Headed Bat King—a spirit beast comparable to a 30,000-year-old creature. Its most terrifying ability was its regenerative power, fueled by consuming its minions. Unless all three heads were destroyed simultaneously, it would be a nightmare for any opponent.

Hu Liena was about to warn Chen Yuan to be careful when, to her astonishment, Chen Yuan summoned the Seven Kill Sword. He took a deep breath, exhaled sharply, and swung the sword six times in quick succession. The six sword beams formed the character for "kill" (杀). When combined, their power nearly doubled. This was a genuine ten-thousand-year spirit skill, unleashed with Chen Yuan's level 70 spirit power.

The "kill" character tore through the air and slammed into the Darkgold Three-Headed Bat King. With a final, agonized screech, the bat king's three heads and entire body were reduced to a bloody pulp, raining down into the abyss below.

A mere 30,000-year spirit beast was no match for Chen Yuan, who could have torn it apart with his bare hands. Using the "Kill" technique, the pinnacle of sword energy manipulation, was overkill.

Hu Liena exclaimed in disbelief:

"That was the Darkgold Three-Headed Bat King, comparable to a 30,000-year spirit beast! You killed it in one move? That terrifying technique—why have I never seen you use it before?"

Chen Yuan didn't turn his head, nor did he offer much explanation. He simply said:

"No one was worth taking seriously before. Don't ask too many questions. Let's move quickly through this area. We can't afford to waste too much spirit power on these small fry."

Hu Liena didn't dare argue and replied naturally:

"Understood."

At the same time, she felt even more disheartened, convinced of her own inadequacy. The pride of the Spirit Hall's Golden Generation seemed utterly insignificant in front of Chen Yuan.

With the Darkgold Three-Headed Bat King dead, the remaining bats scattered in all directions, no longer a threat.

Soon, Chen Yuan and Hu Liena cleared the area. Chen Yuan's breathing remained steady, as the two spirit cores within him rapidly replenished his spirit power.

Hu Liena, however, was panting heavily. As soon as they left the bat-infested zone, she retracted her external spirit bone. Her spirit power was already more than half depleted.

She wanted to rest, but seeing that Chen Yuan showed no intention of stopping, she gritted her teeth and pressed on, suppressing all her emotions.

In the eerie silence of the Road to Hell, the two figures continued forward. The strange energy in the air intensified their killing intent, with tangible waves of killing aura swirling around them. However, both had head spirit bones to stabilize their minds, allowing them to maintain control for now.

After running for what felt like an eternity, they finally entered another distinct area.

Ahead, coiled on a rock, was a massive serpent. Its dark red body, if fully extended, would easily exceed ten meters in length. Its eyes, though not particularly large, glowed with a fiery red hue, radiating violence and killing intent.

On its head and back were nine bulging protrusions, as if filled with boiling blood. Its aura was terrifying and oppressive.

This was the ancient beast—the Ten-Headed Yang Snake!
