By the time they reached the hospital, Diandra had gone quiet. But her eyes never stopped moving—studying everything with intense curiosity. The towering glass building loomed over her as they stepped out of the car.
Diandra stared up, her mouth parted slightly. "This cannot be a healer's hall. It is too tall."
Alice chuckled beside her. "Welcome to the future, lady knight."
She turned at her with brows formed in one line. "Future?"
Before Alice could respond, Butler Jones, always composed, stepped forward and spoke low to her. "Try not to act too shocked, Miss. We'd like to avoid unnecessary attention."
She nodded and straightened her posture like a soldier. "I shall behave. I promise."
