Reya answered without hesitation.
"His ability is classified Ashen Tier."
Jackal blinked. "Ashen? That's... bottom of the barrel, right?"
Reya shook her head slightly. "Not exactly. Tiers don't measure strength. They measure adaptability, how many different ways an ability can be applied, how flexible it is. It's a bit more complex than that, but that's the basic idea."
She glanced toward the window, as if still seeing Alexander out there.
"Alexander's ability is simple. Limited. It's called Cometfall. Sounds fancy, but it isn't, really. His momentum builds power — and as it does, it releases gas and dust, the comet trail we see. That's it."
She paused.
"But his mana reservoir is deeper than anything we've ever recorded. And his control is flawless."
One of the soldiers leaned forward, voice low. "You could drown in it. Just being near him when he fights feels like standing under a crushing tide."
It made sense.
