David stayed fixed on the roof for a while thinking of what Eric had just revealed to him.
He was still feeling perplexed thinking of how weak he was just when he was feeling high with his new powers, although he didn't know just how strong he was compared to the two he wasn't arrogant enough to think he was stronger than them.
And he was even more fearful of those that had awakened their abilities since the very beginning of the transitions.
As he started moving downstairs to leave the building, he suddenly remembered Eric's words about the development of new abilities for the mutants after every new transition.
That meant the new mutants could only awaken with minor abilities, mostly increased strength or inconsequential abilities but he had many new abilities like regeneration, shape-shifting, and other weird abilities that even he couldn't fully explain.
He wondered if all this pointed out to the fact that he had also passed through multiple transitions and developed different abilities or something else.
He returned to his new house and decided to lay low for a while till the University calmed down then return to his normal life as a student believing the two of them would handle the rest of the process.

The next morning, David woke up and walked out to take a jog just like always
'My ability is really convenient since I don't need some brutal training to improve, just devour my enemies and take their abilities for mine and everything's fine' He thought with a smile.
He drew in a deep breath and felt refreshed 'Surely, living beside the sea really makes a difference' he thought then proceeded for his morning routine.
After finishing his jogging exercise, he returned to his villa and since the villa was facing the sea he could see the see stretching out from his window and he took in the view with awe in his eyes.
Suddenly, he saw the sea shake and flutter, this would be a normal occurrence but it became very weird when a sea length of about five kilometers shake at the very same time!
And for David who had enhanced eyesight and hearing, he could feel something very weird with this phenomenon.
He moved closer to the window to stare at the sea then he could feel the sea shake slightly again then he saw it.
An array of scales and fins fluttering about in the sea and what scared his the most was that he could actually see an eye as wide as the door of the villa he was in.
It must be known that the door of the villa was almost two meters long and a creature with a single eye as big as that froze David in place unable to move or take a single step.
He felt that the unknown creature was staring at him making him feel so terrified his thoughts weren't processing.
'I should get out of this place now' he thought while taking a step back.
'I thought there would be a safe place for me to hide here, I forgot the whole world had become so strange, there's no more safe place for humans in the world and I've become too comfortable thinking everything would remain peaceful.'
His thoughts were becoming stranger with every passing moment but the one thing he was sure of was that if that creature could step out of the ocean and come onto land for a minute the entire seaside town would be decimated beyond repair.
He stepped back and ran out of the room, his heart pounding like it would jump out of his heart at any moment thinking.
'I've been too shallow with my plannings and thoughts, I must know what situation the current world is in, the current power level and how strong the mutants are!'
'Most importantly, I must continue to improve and at an even faster rate or if I encounter this kind of creature I would be no different from an ant!'
