As the carriage exited the gate and entered a long passage to the west, Odette and the Masked Alpha fell into another deafening silence.
Odette dared not to say anything because the Masked Alpha kept staring at her with his red eyes.
The air inside the carriage felt stifling, so she decided to divert her attention by looking at the window, staring at the beautiful meadow that seemed to have no end.
It was as beautiful as a late autumn could be. Still, she was happy to stare at it, because it was a scene that she had never seen before.
She sighed in awe, and the Masked Alpha couldn't help but ask, "What are you staring at? It's just an ugly meadow."
"I don't think it's ugly," Odette smiled while her eyes were fixated on the meadow. "Maybe it is nothing but a usual view for you, Your Majesty. But I've never left my pack in my whole life, so it's not hard to impress me."
