Chapter 13 - The Guest's Are Here!

Today, several people spread the word on a matter that made many jump out of their homes in a flurry.

What?

Is it finally happening? Did you say 10 big time buyers are coming to their little village in 2 hours from now?

Great! Great! Great!

Several people washed their faces and hurried to the Fairbang home to volunteer whenever they could.

In the meantime, on the turbulent mountain road leading to Geldhan village, several buyers frowned in disgust, already regretting their decision to head into such a lonesome and desolate village for business.

Payne Hanberg moaned bitterly when feeling his butt jump up and down his seat with every bump in the road they met.

What the hell? In this modern society, is there such a place with no officially well made roads? No wonder this place was dubbed the poorest village and settlement in the entire country.

It was so bad.

"Tell me, Alice. Are you sure you saw it right?"

How can a village that exists in such a place produce such products as they claim?

They said they grew those products in 3 days artificially, within their greenhouse.

One would think they would be some high end agricultural institute in the city or any or city or town for that matter.

But now, you tell him they're here—in this poverty infested village that everyone knows of?

Payne Hanberg felt he was 100% cheated!

"They are coming! They are coming!"

A few young boys in worn out attire, rushed with all their might, kicking up the dirt with every step they took.

These boys who often acted as the village's lookout team, jumped off the tall trees and had long scattered into the villages to yell out their findings.

Goodness!

The village was suddenly bubbling with excitement, as no one could feel at ease right now when hearing such good news.

It was great that the so-called products they have only heard of but have never seen, would now bear good yields to their pockets… It's just that whether the buyers purchase or not, was what they were most afraid of.

Vrmmmmm~

Expensive Vehicles of all sorts now drive in amongst the excited and crowded roads. What was funny was that as the vehicles progressed, those who earlier watched them pass by, were now running at full speed behind these vehicles like country pumpkins.

Payne Hanberg's jaw opened and closed, not knowing what to say when seeing such a scene. His secretary, Alice, was equally dumbfounded too.

"What's going on with them? Have they never seen a car in their lives?"

Sorry for asking, but their enthusiasm was quite scary.

It wasn't just Payne Hanberg who felt this way, but also the other potential buyers who now wound up their windows for fear of getting attacked. Of course, some lowered their windows instead, waving as if they were kings and queens from some faraway lands.

Hey, can you blame them for taking advantage of the situation?

Payne Hanberg left his window as it was, but was secretly shocked by the reaction of the masses. It was strange to say that they didn't need to ask for directions, as some villagers ahead of their entourage had now signaled and ran ahead towards a particularly towering wall at the other end of the village.

At first glance, it was quite a domineering wall, thick in width and also extremely tall compared to most walls in today's society.

If truth be told, it looked more like a fortress wall, as if created to barricade and protect a fort. On the walls, guards patrolled steadily. And Even within the walls, one could see several rectangular glass surfaces, the size of a book strategically positioned.

The glass was dark, but Payne Hanberg knew that only those on the other side of the glass were able to see through it.

In other words, the guards lurking within the walls could see them, but they can't see the guards.

[GF World Tech]

Those were the words hung majestically on a plaque above the entrance.

Payne Hanberg and several others couldn't help admiring the calligraphy, feeling it must have been written by some great master.

Sure enough, one must not judge a book by its cover, for even within a jungle, there are always unknown crouching tigers amongst the known.

Chief Guard Rufung gave the signal, allowing one of the guards to press a button, allowing the thick main double sided gates to open.

Following this, a medieval styled barred gate also opened, slowly disappearing into the corners of the Tunnel passageway underneath the walls. Well, this was the main passageway into the Company.

What sort of security was this?

Even the villagers didn't know the gates that had never been opened before, could operate like this.

Who am I? What am I? Where am I?...

(Blink, blink)

Was this still their little Geldhan Village they lived in?
