Chapter 15 - Ch.15 : Symbiosis or Surrender

Scene 1: The Bloom's Strike

The transmission crackles. Then silence.

Outpost 7-Delta—gone.

The last thing they see: petals bursting from keyboards. A soldier turning calmly to camera, smiling with moss in his teeth.

Then: static.

Back in the lab, Reen slams the monitor off.

Matthew growls low, voice barely a whisper:

Matthew: "It's not attacking. It's… absorbing."

Gift (frustrated) : "We were never the enemy. Just raw material."

---

Scene 2: The Divided Camp

The bunker shakes with shouting.

Jakku's slamming his fists into the wall.

Jakku (frustrated): "They want control. Jiro died for a reason. This isn't peace—it's a prettier leash."

Maiku stands on the other side of the room, head bowed.

Maiku : "I felt it, Jakku. Not just control. Purpose."

Tension cracks the air.

Matthew steps forward—eyes glowing hot.

Matthew: "Then you're already gone."

They almost go for each other.

Gift steps between them. Voice soft.

Gift : "Hey… hey. Don't make us bury more brothers."

---

Scene 3: The First Bloomfall

They send five to the orange moon. Only one returns.

He walks barefoot across metal—eyes glowing faintly, voice layered and reversed.

Resistance member: "We are one. I saw the root. I saw me."

His skin flowers. Fingers split into petals. He falls into dust like a dandelion in wind.

No one speaks.

Only Maiku looks at the spot where the body vanished. And whispers:

Maiku: "He wasn't afraid."

---

Scene 4: Maiku's Fracture

Maiku collapses mid-sentence.

This time, he doesn't dream.

He becomes the Bloom.

He's the roots under dying cities. The wind in a rusted vent. He is the connection.

He hears every voice, every echo of grief and hope, from all who've touched the Bloom.

Then a voice—ancient, familiar:

"You were the first branch, Maiku. You chose us before you were born."

Jakku finds him shaking, eyes full of orange light.

Jakku: "We need answers. We need to know why it chose you."

Jakku then cuts the petals around Maiku's head but the grow back instantly.

---

Scene 5: Seeking Secrets

Reen works deep into the night. The lab grows colder. But not from weather.

Instruments bloom. Schematics change when she looks away.

Gift: "It's learning faster than we can lie to it."

They pack up. Head for the Archive—what's left of it.

Only place left with data before the Bloom. Before it could rewrite truth.

Reen (quietly): "We don't just need to know what it is. We need to know what it wants us to become."

---

Scene 6: Council Coup

The Feeder Council stands mid-debate. Panic. Anger. Then silence.

Momonato enters—half flesh, half Bloom. His voice echoes like root-signal.

Momonato: "You always feared the end. I offer you a beginning."

They try to resist. He doesn't even raise a hand. The Bloom inside him pulses once—lights flicker. Minds falter.

Project Eclipse turns orange.

He aims it not at Julio—but through it. Into the Bloom.

To own it.

To be it.

---

Scene 7: A Choice

In the lower chamber, the crew readies weapons.

But Maiku doesn't move.

Maiku: "What if he's right? What if we need control? You've seen what chaos does."

Reen's voice cuts like frost:

Reen: "So we become tyrants? We overwrite what we don't understand?"

Gift stands still. A single root curls from his wrist. He quickly cuts the root off.

Gift: "The override already started."

"…The only question is—will it be ours?"

Narrator's Voice:

In a world once ruled by circuits and gunfire, something older… something greener… now writes the rules.

What began as rebellion has grown into metamorphosis. Julio—the battlefield, the seedbed—shifts under their feet. Every root, every whisper in the leaves, speaks of a future no one asked for, but none can deny.

Maiku stands at the fault line—part man, part memory of something larger. He didn't choose to lead. He was chosen—and the weight of that choice is cracking him open like soil in spring.

The Bloom doesn't rage. It invites. But make no mistake—its gentleness hides inevitability. The question now is not "how do we stop it?"

It's "who do we become when we let it in?"

Old allies fracture. The Feeder Council splinters beneath Momonato's quiet, blooming power. And Project Eclipse—once a promise of dominance—is now a question mark in the sky.

They all want control. But the Bloom?

It wants symbiosis.

Or surrender.

And Julio breathes still.

But not as it was.

As something else.

As something… becoming.
