Chapter 21 - 21

Chapter Twenty-One: The Hero Summoning Book

As Crow left the starter village, the cool wind brushing past him, another critical memory surfaced.

A detail so obscure that even most reincarnators had missed it.

A secret shop event —

hidden beneath layers of normal game mechanics —

was about to trigger.

And the prize?

An item beyond the dreams of most early players:

[Item: Hero Summoning Book (SSS-Rank)]

[Effect: Summons one Hero-Class entity with a random Legendary or Mythic talent.]

[Note: Heroes are independent beings capable of growth, leadership, and personal skill development. Their strength exceeds most army units but is below true Divine-class creatures.]

Crow's eyes gleamed.

Even though Divine creatures were stronger, Heroes had something unique —

they could grow, lead armies, and adapt.

In the hands of a talentless player, summoning a single Hero could push them into the Top 100 rankings within a few years.

In Crow's hands?

It would be yet another piece in his unstoppable war machine.

He moved instantly, teleporting straight toward Starter Village's Black Market —

a hidden shop that only appeared once every three days for exactly fifteen minutes.

The surroundings were still simple:

a collapsed barn, broken fences, and an old NPC huddled by a fire.

But Crow knew the trick.

He walked up to the fire and threw in a Silver Beast Fang, a trash-tier item nobody valued.

The fire flashed blue.

The old man chuckled, stood up, and the world twisted.

Suddenly, Crow was standing inside a black misty space — shelves full of strange goods and forbidden treasures looming around him.

And there it was.

On a cracked, ancient pedestal near the back of the shop:

[Hero Summoning Book — SSS Rank]

[Price: 10,000 Gold Coins]

Crow almost laughed.

To an average starting player, 10,000 gold was unreachable.

Even top guilds would struggle at this stage.

But Crow had been dominating dungeons, looting Divine materials, and selling B-rank artifacts since Day One.

He had over 400,000 gold sitting in his inventory already.

Without hesitation, he bought the Hero Summoning Book.

[Purchase Complete!]

[Hero Summoning Book Added to Inventory.]

Crow immediately pulled the heavy book from his inventory.

Its cover was bound in black dragonhide, its edges shining with ancient silver runes.

It pulsed with suppressed power.

Without wasting a second, Crow opened it.

[Summoning in Progress...]

[Talent Scanning: Adapting to Owner's Power...]

[Matching Crow's Authority Level...]

[Compensating for Divine Controller Status...]

[Hero Successfully Summoned!]

A burst of silver and black light exploded outward.

When it faded, a girl stood before Crow.

She had long jet-black hair streaked with shimmering silver strands, cold violet eyes, and wore dark plate armor shaped like elegant vines.

At her side hung a cursed black longsword humming with restrained hatred.

She knelt instantly without a word, one hand across her chest in a knight's pledge.

[New Hero Acquired: Selene, the Fallen Star Knight (SSS-Rank Hero)]

Talent: Dimensional Severance (Mythic Grade)

Ability: Sever space itself to bypass armor, magic barriers, and defensive skills.

Crow smiled.

This was far better than he remembered.

Not just a Hero —

but a Hero with a Mythic Talent that could cut through reality itself.

She would be a nightmare even for other Divine creatures once she grew stronger.

He looked down at Selene, whose violet eyes shone with absolute loyalty.

"You belong to me now," Crow said simply.

Selene bowed her head deeper, her voice steady and clear.

"Command me, my master."

Crow turned away, already thinking about his next moves.

With Sasha, Seraphina, Lyravex, Aeris, his two Divine pets, and now Selene —

his force wasn't just strong.

It was unstoppable.

And soon...

even the gods would fear him.
