Garret sat at a white desk in the right corner, while Cubie-chan floated beside him.
The classroom at this moment, full of students sitting at their own seat.
There were no more empty desks left.
Garret turned his sharp gaze around the room.
What are these students doing?
Wondered him.
Some were sleeping on their desks, exhausted.
Others were sitting in groups, chatting.
When Garret's gaze fixed at them, he could deduce.
Not all the students were of the human race.
Even so, they looked like human, almost indistinguishable.
Garret's observation ended. Professor Murphy entered the classroom, his footsteps resounded in the quietness.
All the students stood up straight, bowing to him.
Before he began his explanation.
There it is, I knew Professor Murphy had to be our class professor.
that thought echoed in Garret's head.
"Sit down, please." Professor Murphy said.
"Thank you, Professor," the students, both male and female, replied in unison as they sat down at their desks.
"Hello, students," Professor Murphy began.
"I am Professor Murphy, Murphy Britancount. And I will be the advisor for Class 1. If you have any questions about this academy, feel free to ask me at any time."
"Professor, if I can't do the exam, can I copy from Garret?" the boy sitting next to Garret asked.
"Wow, Leon, there are bunch of good people to copy from, but you want to copy from a 12-year-old like me?"
Garret replied, chuckling in his throat as he patted Leon on the back.
Leon, a young man with golden hair, a prominent nose, fair skin and goblin-like ears.
He had met Garret just before entering the room. And they had exchanged Interstellar Box contacts.
Hearing the question, Professor Murphy answered without hesitation,
"Good question question!
But the exams at this academy aren't like those at other school.
The academy will distribute a different set of exam papers to each person."
Professor Murphy's answer caused Leon to slump forward. His face landing on Cubie-chan's core.
"Will he be alright?" Cubie-chan asked, her eyes fixed on Leon.
"Just leave him be, Cubie," Garret replied.
A few seconds passed, Asami, sitting in the back right corner of the room.
Raising her hand to ask a question.
Her trembling fingers gripped her red necktie.
"Um, Professor," she began, her quiet tone laced with hesitation,
"my parents asked me to inquire if there are any ways to get a discount on the semester fee?"
Hearing Asami's question, Leon chuckled in his thought.
Oh please, your family is loaded, and you're asking for a tuition discount?
"I'm sorry, there's no way to reduce the semester fee," Professor Murphy explained.
"However, you can reduce other expenses. If you purchase a student uniforms, worth 20 ICD.
You can bring the receipt and receive a refund."
Hearing this, Asami bowed her head and sat back down in her chair.
Her gaze drifting to the black cloak and brown skirt.
That covered her body above her long black stockings.
"Alright, if there's nothing else," Professor Murphy said,
"then I'll get started with the lesson."
As he finished speaking, Garret's sharp gaze fixed on his face.
His eyes widened, and his hand moved closer to his mouth, forming a fist.
Garret, if you're going to ask about the dream man again, be careful, a thought flashed through Professor Murphy's mind.
I don't know what might happen to you.
Garret looked at the professor's serious expression, saying nothing.
The professor probably thinks I'm going to ask about the man in my dream, right? But if so, he's wrong,
That thought running in garret's head.
"Professor," Garret began, raising his hand with a slight smirk, "this might sound like a stupid question.
But why would Lady Charlotte want a contract with me after she killed Ralph?"
Garret's question caused a stunned silence in the classroom.
Many students gaping in disbelief.
They couldn't believe Garret had actually encountered the Goddess of Annihilation in person. Leon, upon hearing this, hugged Cubie-chan core.
"That's a long story, Garret. Let's discuss it privately later," Professor Murphy replied, his voice firm, his mind raced.
Good heavens, this kid is involved in something much bigger than I thought.
"Alright then," Professor Murphy said, "I have something for all of you. Take a look beside your desks."
Murphy pressed a button on his phone. Next to each student, a translucent system materialized. A neon blue message box appeared in the air within the classroom.
Garret received the system as well.
The message displayed in a box in front of him.
Cubie-chan, seeing the system, the stars glowing in her eyes.
I want one too... if only I were a sentient being.
On Leon's side, he was already arguing with the system.
Seeing the message in front of him, Leon clenched his fists and gritted his teeth. "You're just an AI, don't get cocky! You know. Even if you're not a mango, you can still fall!"
Leon's voice was loud, his breath hot.
"Whoa, you're going too far, you bastard!" Leon reached out to punch the system, but his fist went through it.
Garret, witnessing this, chuckled. "Cubie, look at my friend."
"Yes, haha" she replied in a flat tone, her eyes completely white, unable to comprehend any emotion.
"Sure, sure. I'll install as many programs as I know," he replied, his hand tapping on the system as he wrote code. His eyes were fixed on the system.
The code he wrote had the following content:
Garret's Daily Quests
* Push-ups x 100
* Sit-ups x 100
* Run 5 kilometers
* Read 100 pages and be able to summarize them
* Failure to complete will result in punishment
