Chapter 9 - Ch.9 : Veins of Betrayal

Scene 1: Aftermath & Doubt

The resistance hall flickers with light and laughter—people celebrating the last mission's success. But a feeling lingers on Maiku's face. Still. Watching. Not smiling.

Matthew nurses a wound, glaring at Jiro from across the room.

Matthew (low, to Maiku): "That guy's eyes are never tired. He bleeds with words, not wounds."

Maiku (thinking): "He never forgets names. Not even the fake ones."

Jakku walks in behind Jiro. He hears him talking about the Ashgrave Basin—but Jakku never mentioned it.

Jakku (quietly to Gift): "I never told him about the Basin or the Ether storm's color."

Gift (shrugs): "Maybe someone else did."

Jakku (firm): "No one else survived it."

---

Scene 2: The First Parasite Test

Cut to a dark lab. Screams echo.

A dying Feeder soldier convulses as the parasite slithers into his neck.

His body snaps backward. Bones twist. Muscles inflate like pressure bags. Veins glow orange. His tongue becomes a blade. His breath melts the steel table beneath him.

Then... silence.

He kneels.

Parasite Soldier (low, reverent): "I serve... I see."

Momonato watches, hands behind his back, eyes wet with awe.

Momonato (smiling): "Divinity was never meant to be gentle."

---

Scene 3: The Leaking Map

Back at resistance HQ, Maiku unrolls a classified route to a weapon cache. Jiro is there. So is Matthew.

Maiku (to the group): "Only six people saw this map."

Cut to ambush.

A valley turned battlefield. Feeders swarm. One scout is vaporized. Two more scream over comms before going silent.

After they escape—barely—Maiku's eyes are locked on Jiro.

Maiku (calm but cold): "Who knew the route?"

Jiro (offended): "I followed your lead. I almost died too."

Gift: "He's right. He saved some of them."

Matthew: "Even traitors bleed when the blade is close."

Jakku (quiet): "I don't trust him either. But doubt without proof is a luxury we can't afford."

---

Scene 4: Confrontation & Split

Inside a rain-drenched bunker, Maiku finally snaps.

He slams a knife into the table near Jiro's hand.

Maiku: "Where were you during the first ambush? Why was your comm line quiet?"

Jiro stands tall.

Jiro: "Saving two of your men from being atomized. Ask them."

The room turns. Those men confirm his story.

Matthew (growling): "Too perfect."

Gift: "Or too good to be false."

Voices clash. Lines are drawn. Trust starts to fracture.

Jakku (stepping back): "This isn't a team anymore. It's a chessboard."

---

Scene 5: Arrival of the Parasite Feeder

Night falls. Fog rolls in.

Something moves.

Fast.

A twisted figure steps out—half flesh, half myth. Tongue like a razor, eyes glowing gold, armor fused to skin. It grins.

Parasite Feeder: "So this is the famous squad. Your heartbeat tells me you're afraid."

The fight erupts.

Maiku lands a direct hit, only for the wound to heal instantly.

Matthew is thrown into a wall. Gift gets slashed across the chest. Jakku blindsides it with a low strike, but it adapts—its skin hardens mid-fight.

Parasite Feeder (laughing): "Predictable. All of you."

Jiro appears—slashing through the chaos to save a downed soldier.

Maiku finally snaps and uses one of his dragon abilities and shoots out fire from his mouth straight into the beast's face. Jakku, taking the opportunity leaps and makes a cross cut on the monsters chest. Matthew jumps in pins the beast and Gift lands the final blow cutting it's brain in half and turning it into half green dust and half orange gue.

Maiku curious takes a sample of the orange gue and he decides he is going to give it to Madam Reen for further inspection.

Even though they had victory it came with a cost one resistance member is dead. Another is bitten and cells are now dying.

Maiku (stressed) : "Shit!!! I forgot my vials of the antidote."

Jiro smirks and Matthew catches him

Matthew (surprised) : "Guys!!!!! He just smirked!!!!!"

Jiro becomes all defensive which further proves Jakku and Maiku's suspicions.

Jakku looks at Gift but Gift plays it off as nothing.

---

Scene 6 : Madam Reen and Maiku

Maiku : "Madam Reen, I've got a vial of orange gue can you please inspection it while I check on the soldier in the tank."

Madam Reen : "Hmmmm, okay. No problem. This gue by the way looks very strange almost like it does positive instead of negative."

Scene 7: The Infected

Later, in the medical wing—low light. Silence. The infected soldier lies inside a containment tank.

His body is healing... too fast.

Veins glow. Eyes shimmer faintly. He breathes easily, even smiles—but it's not fully him anymore.

Gift (staring at the tank): "He's alive. Stronger, even."

Matthew: "That thing's not him anymore."

Jakku (to Maiku): "What if this is the future they're building?"

Maiku (staring at the glass): "Then we burn it before it breathes."

The scenery lingers on the infected soldier's face. His eyes open—perfectly human… and then blink sideways, like a lizard.

Jakku (shocked) : "What the hell was that!!"

The whole group jumps in shock and surprise.

To Be Continued…

Narrator (Voice-Over):

"Trust is a fragile thing. Built in whispers. Broken by a single breath."

"In the glow of firelight and victory songs, the resistance cheers. But in the veins of celebration… betrayal pulses."

"Jiro Mitoko walks among them—an enigma dressed in loyalty, a traitor draped in truth. With every helping hand and every perfect save, suspicion grows like mold in shadow."

"And far beyond—beneath labs soaked in screams—Momonato plays god. The parasites no longer kill. They improve. They whisper through flesh. They wear loyalty like skin."

"Tonight, the resistance faced one. And it nearly broke them."

"But what if the monster wears a smile? What if it bleeds memories and speaks in the voices of friends?"

"One soldier is dead. Another is infected. And something alien now smiles through human teeth."

"The lines between man and monster blur. Between ally and enemy… they disappear."

"This is no longer just a war for survival. This is a war for identity."
