After leaving the strange house, David walked back to his dorm then had a deep sleep for the next seven hours.
When he woke up, he felt deeply refreshed then checked his build in the mirror and although his body composition didn't change much, he could still feel his build becoming tougher and stronger.
But no one would have expected someone with a normal physique like his to possess such immense power the moment he acted.
He nodded to himself then decided have his breakfast at the nearby restaurant, since he had enough money now he didn't need to worry about the costs.
He had just placed his orders when he saw the day's news headline reporting the incident that happened at the university the previous day.
He knew the incident would alarm the authorities and others but he had forgotten about the death of seven different students before his fight with the lion.
The death of the students was definitely an issue for concern as even the university would have to attend to the issue personally to ensure such an incident doesn't repeat itself again.
But the greatest issue of concern for him was the lack of sympathy or empathy for the dead students which he could have prevented if he stepped up earlier.
'What's happening to me? I've been feeling different weird emotions these few days. Things I wouldn't feel normally. Is this the result of my fusion with other people? Or is it that their habits and behaviors are also fusing with me?'
While he was deep in thought, he looked at the television screen and was shocked to see a blurry view of the incident when the lion broke out.
Judging by the direction from which the video was taken it seemed to be a CCTV from the nearby pole.
He could see all the students in a panic and scrambling for their lives while the lion just treated them as food and when it looked like the fate of all those present were sealed, the lion suddenly scrambled towards another student and was thrown back with a single punch!
Everyone watching this video in the restaurant had expressions of shock and awe on their faces.
"Is this video real or a propaganda? How is it possible to punch the daylights out of a lion of that huge size?" a man asked
"The video is real, I also heard rumors from those that survived the incident! They even said he could run faster than the lion itself." Another man replied.
The first man shook his head and said "The world is becoming so strange nowadays, first a lion with electricity all over its body breaking out and now a fragile kid that can punch a truck to oblivion"
"Times are changing, and we are already too old to keep up anymore, leave the rest to the younger generation." Another much older woman said.
The only consolation David had was that the video was taken from a direction that didn't reveal his face and only his back and side view could be seen.
He quickly finished his breakfast, still feeling extremely hungry but the food in the restaurant weren't to his liking but he decided against staying out for too long.
He had a nagging feeling at the back of his mind that the school authorities and others would be looking for him and although it would most likely be to thank him for saving the lives of the other students even though some died.
But that didn't mean they wouldn't question his ability to stand up to the lion, if they ever discovered his abilities he wouldn't be able to escape a round of dissection.
And if his suspicions were right about the disappearance of the mutants in the city then the video was likely to gain a lot of unwanted attention to him.
He walked back to his hostel planning to pack a few necessities along with the cash then look for a safe house where he would stay for a while when he saw two men walking in front of the hostel.
Normally there wouldn't be anything weird with two people just passing by but the story would be different when the two were mutants.
His ability to distinguish mutants from far away gave him a huge advantage in this kind of situation.
He pretended to see nothing and just covered his face even higher with the hood then continued walking towards the hostel.
After getting to his room, he quickly packed the cash under his bed and a few other things then walked out locking his room and leaving without looking back.
Even though the two men walking in front of the hostel might not be there to look for him but if they really came for him then things would be way worse.
Even if he could defeat two of them, if four or five came and ganged up on him he wasn't so confident and besides the only mutants he had seen and fought with were those who only had higher strength than normal humans.
Those who had special abilities would also be out there and who knew what kind of abilities they would possess, he wasn't confident in taking their fury on himself and he also wasn't ready to work under others or be a lab rat.
He checked the vicinity of the hostel carefully for anyone who seemed suspicious and with his high perception he was confident that no one could easily escape from his sights.
After checking for a while, he hailed a cab and took off for a new destination he had in mind.
